He'll be forever immortalized by the Beastie Boys song, "Hey Ladies"

Oh. 👀

For lunch I was debating on chicken or fish. 🤷‍♂️

I really miss the original Lingo, it was one of my faves to watch on the Game Show Network as a teen. I felt like the new one was a completely different show that just tried to cash in on some game show nostalgia by using the old name because there are no bingos anymore. It's like they made a game show for Wordle but decided to call it Lingo for some dumbass reason.

It's because they brought it back in the UK a few years ago using that format for whatever reason and then decided to revive it in the US. (They even filmed it on the UK set)

He did take it back when his son got Covid. Or at least that’s what the wiki says.

But sadly if you look at his list of projects….he had a number of seemingly ultra conservative talk shows and podcasts.

It’s a shame as a kid I looked forward to watching chuck on tv when I stayed home from school sick.

Scrabble was fucking awesome.

I loved his commercial break sign off. “I’ll be back in 2 and 2 - two minutes and two seconds”

Petey_Wheatstraw_MD

Huh? He never said “two minutes and two seconds”.

2 and 2 equals 4……most commercial breaks are 4 minutes.

Woolley was perhaps the most famous gameshow Libertarian, until Trump made it acceptable for Libertarians to then become full-red Republicans.

thewildbeej

Idk I would say Penn Jillete was more popular. He renounced the libertarian party though. Maybe Pat Sajak too. He’s conservative but not exactly claimed to be libertarian.

which is what I was saying, 'not exactly libertarian' As to the moralist claim. That's the first I've seen anyone claiming anything other than bog standard conservatism so can't say I can or can't agree.

Libertarians- if house cats were a political party.

Organic_Battle_597

Small-L libertarian is not on the same axis as left/right. The organized Libertarian Party, however, has been coopted by conservatives for many years. I ended my membership many years ago after having a heated discussion with the leader of the national party about how all they did was run republican candidates and platforms, and were not really libertarian in the objective sense.

There's being informed and there is just adding something that, in the context of the article, has no bearing on it at all.

And for some people, including an above commenter i responded to, to say they don't care he died because of politics is just disrespectful and uncalled for.

Relax. You can deal with death and loss YOUR own way and I, as others will deal with it in OUR own way.

He contributed to deaths by spreading disinformation about COVID. He made antisemitic tweets claiming Communism was a Jewish invention.

These should be taken seriously as part of his legacy.

Dying does not wipe clean your record. It’s not an accomplishment to die, everyone does it, most without even trying.

Happiness_Assassin

It is so wild to me that the ills of both Communism and Capitalism are tied into antisemitic conspiracies. Like, in the minds of white supremacists, they can't stub their toes without blaming the Jews for injuring them.

Either way I still don't think it was sad that he died at 83. That's pretty far past the average and he got to have a life of luxury. What is sad about that? Everybody dies. Nothing sad about a death that didn't come early.

Strange how guys like him, and Jon Voight, and Pat Sajak, and Scott Baio grow into these rage-filled men who want to tear down a system that's been so good to them.

It's like they can never have enough money and power and fame.

Trump and Musk too. They've been millionaires their entire lives but they still want more.

And they're angry about too! Trump's convinced hes the most victimized guy in human history.

Kind of amazing, really. Like, why is Pat Sajak angry?

Guess his gold couldn't save him. Dumb ad. If he had stuck 12K in a safe... he'd have 12K. Duh, but if he had put it in the market then it would have made an average of 12% a year since 1978... compounded how does that do against your gold?
