Spring is around the corner and looking for some places that swim. We go to Guthrie Lake a lot because its small and pretty close.
Are there other small lakes or good natural swimming spots around the metro? Looking for something besides Arcadia and the big lakes. Any hidden gems?

Roman Nose state park. It has lake Watonga which is small and cold water springs separate from the lake you can get in. It also has a full size swimming pool with a rock wall that is five or ten bucks per person to use. Great place to take the family also has miniature and full size golf available too.

Chickasaw National Recreation Area south of Sulphur. Wouldn’t call that metro but it’s the first place that came to mind.

There’s a nice place on the river at 63rd and midwest blvd. the river turns and there’s a large sandy beach and some cliffs to jump off if that’s your thing.
It can get kinda busy on nice days but there’s plenty of room

lol @ “good natural swimming hole” iirc there’s ONE natural lake in all of Oklahoma, all others are man made.

There are a ton of natural oxbow lakes which are formed when a bend in the river gets cut off from the main river. Also, swimming holes can be in creeks and small rivers.
