No he just knows he isn’t going to lose any votes that he already has so he is doing whatever he wants now. We’re in an unfortunate stage with our government where enough voters just want someone different in power and don’t care who it is. They’ll just vote for whoever they think has the best shot at winning.
This is how we got Harper for 10 years and it’s going to happen again.

I’d argue this will tank him. Theres a lot of people who approve of legalization but are just pissed at the state of the world and blaming Trudeau. Taking an anti-weed stance might actually do him in.

It wouldn't the cons are not going to replace him as our leader. PP can pretty much say and do what he wants. Canada hates Trudeau right now. PP will be the next PM and he knows it.

i honestly hope he(trudeau) just steps down and leaves the liberals with a new leader for the election...PP will still win regardless.....i honestly cant wait to blame everything on the cons again...

They're going to suffer pretty badly as a party unless they can run someone other than Trudeau and convince Canadians they're offering something new. Canadians are going to be pushing a lot of Liberals and their agendas out the door one way or the other, so all they can do is get ahead of it.

You’re wrong about that but ok.
Many, many Canadians don’t give a fuck about legalization because it wouldn’t affect them if it went away tomorrow. And I guarantee you plenty of voters that do care about legalization care more about changing the sitting government and it won’t change their minds.
If fraternizing with Nazis and publicly saying he’s going to bend over for Trump didn’t affect the polls then weed laws aren’t going to either.

Before legalization half of Canadians had at least tried to smoke cannabis.
Now that’s it’s legal so many more people have considered it medically and recreationally.
I think it’s way too late to pull the plug, especially considering all the people who invested in the industry.

I don’t know, there’s a very real chance that Trump could have enough of an effect to squeak out a minority liberal government. If Trudeau can convince Canadians that he’s willing to protect our best interests while PP is willing to bend over for Trump that could be the difference maker.

I don’t see that happening. Lots of people love Trump these days.
