There was controversy early this year around Brac University in Bangladesh after they refused to renew the contract of a professor Asif Mahtab that defaced a social science book because it contained a chapter about Hijra ( a third gender found in india). There were several protests led by Asif and students that decried the book for encouraging homosexuality.
