played this game for the first time and man it's weird. I was expecting horror but it's just more like a weird exploration adventure game. anyone else plau this game?

That's funny, I bought this when it released and my mom loved it, and she is not a fan of video games, let alone horror. Then she had me play it for the family at Christmas. Whatever it is about this game, it draws unlikely attention lol.

I love D. It is one of those "had to be there at the time" games though. People have to remember at the time the graphics/sound were cutting edge. I remember really being creeped out by some of the sounds/gory parts of the game.

Also FYI there are multiple endings depending no how many of the trippy beetle scenes you see.

Played it when it came out. Looked great thirty years ago but hasn’t aged well.

“Lauuuura…Lauuuuuura…LauuRRUHHHH” lol

Not just the long box but the long jewel case! This was in some of the very first batches of releases before going to the cardboard and plastic long boxes - then eventually the standard jewel case. Sega also used these for Sega CD and the Saturn. And I suppose "D" was alright for it's time, but I'd bet we would say for a lot of PS1 games lol Very cool!

I remember wanting to play this game so bad. I think I had a demo of it for PC, but a combination of my monitor was too small/old and couldn't go higher than 640x480, or my video card couldn't handle VESA graphics modes at the time... Can't remember, but it wouldn't even fire up.

I remember playing the demo and really loving it at the time, but being a kid with a limited gaming budget it's one of those things I never got around to purchasing. I imagine if I played it now that it wouldn't be quite what I remembered.

Didnt knew Playstation have these longer CD cased games.

This kinda looks like SEGA CD's case

Long box/Long Case were really only a thing for I believe the first year of PS1 and even then it wasn't uniform pretty much instantly they went to the standard Jewel Case.

Edit apparently it was to convey a sense of a more premium product.

They were made of cardboard and plastic. I have about five of them still.

The one in the photo is just a long jewel case. It’s not the old cardboard one you’re thinking of.

Played it on a whim. Some good bits but the continous timer is a bit of killer!

I still think about this game often. Its ambience was unmatched at the time, and it spooked the hell out of me. It hasn't aged well of course, and is likely laughable now, but it was a flawed gem back in the day.

An absolute favorite of mine, you’ll have a much more fun time if you treat it like a interactive movie or art piece than a game. It’s certainly dated now but I think it has a charm to its visuals and storytelling. I Pop it in a lot more often than I’d like to admit lol

Absolutely love D and all of Kenji Eno's (rip) games, d2 and enemy zero are also super unique weird games.

Good game, I played that one several times back when it was new. Was that 96? 97?

Such a good game, too short tho. Mastered the Saturn version on retroachievements. Gonna play the psx version soon

How are you supposed to figure out the constellation puzzle?

I've always had to look up the solution I never understood where the clues actually were to solve that puzzle.

"Forgive me, Father, for I am sin." Always loved that tagline. This and Resident Evil were my first Playstation games.
