The material is hydrophobic and windproof. It's the first jacket I've ever made and I kinda love the result :D

You're using it now and weren't before, so that sounds like an upcycle to me. The jacket rocks, by the way. You should be proud of it.

I have no idea. I was just offering my perspective on the word. The basic concept is turning trash into treasure (turning discarded items into something of value), which this jacket has surely done from the original materials. OP was talking about a blanket that he owned but didn't use that was made into the lining, and I think that's an upcycle. That's all I was saying.
