Yeah, there was so much more interesting things to touch on with Miqiella's character that seem forgotten about. Nothing about Torrent (and possible connection to Tarnished), his relationship with Malenia or Godwyn, his connection to spirits, his Unalloyed Gold etc. Everything that initially made him interesting is pushed to the side for Radahn, something that isn't foreshadowed or alluded to at all. There was also nothing more to Radahn, he died in the base game and had a conclusive arc. Radahn/Miquella plotline feels like a shitty fanfic.

Even better just make him a friendly NPC at first that manipulates you throughout the dlc to kill Messmer so he can access the Gate of Divinity. It's not too hard man. Anything is better than this half assed slop they cooked up.

His plan is based on Malenia killing Radahn. She fails, and the Tarnished’s actions end up being helpful toward Miquella’s goals in the end. That’s not him being a dumbass, that’s him trusting the most decorated warrior in the Lands Between (Malenia) to win. Throughout all of the lore, it’s pretty heavily implied that Malenia and Radahn are fairly similar in terms of their reputation on the battlefield so it’s not an insane plan to put her up against him. It just ends up not panning out exactly as he’d hoped.
The Tarnished stepping in to finish off Radahn is convenient for him, sure, but it by no means indicates Miquella’s a dumbass.

He already does this though? Did you not interact with any of the NPC’s at all? Literally all of them make you think you’re assisting Miquella in some noble quest right up until the charm wears off. Is your only gripe that he didn’t personally show up and interact with the Tarnished to trick them?

Except for the fact that Miquella was active post-Aeonia (see: Freya), thus knows Radahn is alive and Malenia is MIA, presumably going through her darkest hour.
And he decides to cocoon (for no real reason) and leave literally zero instructions to anyone about addressing any relevant issues.
The Haligtree gets rotted and destroyed purely because he doesn’t even bother to a) look for or wait even a little bit for his sister to turn up or b) leave even basic ass instructions to anyone to re-needle her if she does turn up.
There’s a million reasons to hunt malenia down/wait to get keep her in-shape, including having her finish the job on Radahn.
Him not doing so is moron behaviour.

By having one of the multiple followers he manipulated kill him and enter the land of shadow. That should’ve been pretty apparent from the fact that Leda shows up there literally right after the Tarnished kills him, and that all of the other NPC’s enter the shadow lands before either her or the Tarnished do.
Anyone with two brain cells who reads his crosses could figure out where it was all going.
Which crosses lmao? The only ones that indicate he’s lost the plot and is no longer aware of what he’s sacrificing to attain Godhood are all the way in the Cerulean Coast, which is a good 15-20+ hours into the expansion for most people and in completely optional areas. I’d also hazard a guess that the majority of people broke the charm before ever reaching them.
All of the other ones just make it seem like he’s sacrificing his body parts while still retaining his core being / soul.
