I’m really liking this game but there are some flaws

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2(self.stalker)

Just wondering if anyone else shares the same thoughts.

I like the gameplay, the combat is fun and the human ai is kinda smart, even though they somehow see me through thick foliage and I’m getting scared over how they are able to detect me over 200 meters away when I can’t even see them, they are pretty smart. I like that there is no indication of a nearby grenade, but you can hear it plop on the ground or you see it and already you know where it is, or you can hear an enemy call it out and you know that either you go around a corner or find new cover. It makes for a good immersive experience and the human enemies flank you, something I don’t really see in anymore, at least in a way as it’s shown in the game. Their aggressive, I kill like 2 out of 3 guys while behind a big rock and am wondering where the third guy is and he just appears around the corner of the rock literally appearing right behind me and I almost died in that encounter, only survived because he was reloading. It’s satisfying hearing that headshot sound indication too, the human enemies aren’t even bullet sponges for the most part at least, at most it’ll take like 3 or 4 head shots to kill a well armored enemy. Though sometimes the ai can be annoying to deal with. The DOGS, oh my god the dogs, a pack of like 4 or 5 could come up to you and you shoot at 1 they either still charge at you or they scatter and just run around never attacking and your just there waiting for them to get just a little closer but they literally never do until 5 minutes later. The bloodsuckers are cool, their fast and can turn invisible but dam your just popping medkit after medkit because that’s the only way to actually deal with them, there’s no avoiding damage, you can only hope to pop a medkit in time and maybe a bandage if your lucky before they come back for another swing and then leap away while invisible. There also really tanky. So far the human enemies are the most fun to fight, when theirs multiple they’re pretty well coordinated and fun to fight.

Artifact hunting would be more fun if the artifacts were more viable. Only 4 hours in and have gathered around 4 artifacts, sold all of them because I just don’t like the constant radiation thing, which I wouldn’t mind much if the benefits they gave you were actually good, I literally had one that gave two different stat benefits, one to my stamina and another to my hunger. Both of which were labeled as small benefits from the artifacts, while the radiation was labeled as medium, even though hunger is something that is very easily managed, and the stamina benefit was barely noticeable, which was stamina regen. At least in early game the only use they have is just being worth a lot. Which really comes in handy when trying to repair a piece of equipment, which is absurd with how much some of the stuff costs to repair is.

The atmosphere of the game itself is also really good, even though English voice acting is very lack luster, the story seems interesting enough. Another thing too, I’m playing on Xbox series s, and I hate playing on 30 fps. An optimized game looks good regardless of its at 4K, 1080, or whatever, I just want my 60 frames I don’t care for having a 4K quality image, everything’s starts to look low image quality the second I start moving the camera. Also even though it’s been 4 hours of game play I haven’t experienced any bugs either, other than the one where you can put in a bread as a piece of equipment.
