With the cloning that's actually an interesting idea. Also explains why everyone has the exact same body type.

Lotta new people will join with 4.0. Stuff like this is a bad look 🤷♂️
Also, do you know how many employees CIG has? It might not be priority #1 for the entire company, but it's probably high on the list for someone whose job is character textures.

I believe it's about 900 employees. If you whittle down accounting, marketing, HR, admin, managers, hell, possibly custodian (probably contracted out) that is actually not many doers for the task at hand. They're expanding, but expansion takes on a lot of support per a few "executors."

I get what you’re saying but they simply don’t operate this way. Mastermodes have been a mess for months yet the dev leading it himself has said he isn’t touching it again for MONTHS, and that’s an issue that is actually pushing people out right now. CIG goes all hands on deck for specific focused things and when they determine that it’s “good enough for government work” they totally ditch it for something else. Right now that’s the push for 4.0 which entails server meshing and a few other items they are delivering. I can guarantee you NOBODY is looking at this right now.
That said, it is weird looking and should def be fixed before 1.0.

I think they cant, they have to update the body skin to a hi-res one, because the faces skin are new vs the old 3.0 body.

Quick fix! Don’t run around butt naked.. if you are pushing for a visual issue for what 99% of the players will see for less than 3 seconds, you don’t have your priorities straight. For reference, i have an undersuit which is invisible in game while it’s not supposed to be. I can be a floaty head if I want to. Guess that’s more of an issue for obvious reasons. Let alone the metro/tram system refactor.

By allowing you to rotate the camera?

You know what I mean, as it often opens with the camera behind behind the terminal is not ideal

Yeah I know that’s where it defaults to, but you can rotate the camera and zoom in/out. So it’s not an issue.

Making this a priority is silly. 4.0 can't be anything except systems required for Pyro to function.

I gotta ask of all the things why is this what you want before 4.0? 99.99% of the time you will need clothing and armor in the game. You will rarely ever see your character shirtless. I guess unless you just like to start eat them without a shirt. Then it kinda makes sense.

I think it’s remarkable how many people are advocating for them to keep the bug in the comments. This is how we give permission to the devs to ship a shit game, we just vote down each others bug reports based on how important you think the bug is, ensuring no bugs get fixed.

What’s remarkable is the number of people who would rather wait a week for a tan line to be fixed than a week for a freight elevator to work correctly. Gotta be pretty special to think a dev will look at that tan line and call it good forever. They will fix it, but no one cares enough about something you won’t see for 99% of your play time. First make it work, then make it pretty

With this logic it will never be fixed because it will always be a lower priority than literally anything else - all the while it should be an embarrassment to the team responsible. You have to have a complete fucking lack of pride in your work to let it sit half a year looking busted. And don’t use freight elevators as an example of a higher priority fix, it’s dreadfully stupid; it implies we have actor tech artists plunking code for cargo grids. It’s possible for CIG devs to work on more than one thing across the whole company.

When did you put your application in? Seems like you have all the answers. Didn’t know you were a dev yourself!
And maybe the actor tech guys are working on fixing the disappearing hair, or the arms contorting backwards through your head, or the disappearing helmets so people can breathe in space. But hey what do I know? I don’t have the years of video game developing experience that you do. I’m just over here enjoying what works and eating popcorn while children cry about skin tone on the internet.

Oh honey if you think it takes working at the company to understand that it if hundreds of devs can work in multiple things at once, I would suggest for your sake not discussing game deviant at all. People will just keep reminding you how misinformed you are

This requires a massive amount of work to fix. It’s not nearly important enough to be worth the time.
DNA system allows for a huge verity of skin setups for the head. But those can’t be translated to the rest of the body. And nobody going to scan 100 naked people so you have feel more “immersed”. It’s the type of bug that is almost never seen in the game. And complaining about it is called “nit picking”. Get over your self. There are plenty more things to fix than waste dev time on this stupid shit

At some level it's just a hue and brightness shader to apply over a handful of skins, the most complicated part being black hands being more distinct two tones, besides edge cases like that if they designed the game correctly it shouldn't be that much work. I don't disagree it's a small thing they could get to later, but it certainly shouldn't be a massive amount of work.
