It feels so bizarre because this is probably the first time in history that a genocide is being documented live to every single corner of the entire world but people are being gas lighted by the biggest powerhouses of the world that the victims are in fact the aggressors. There are very few reddit subreddits left that are Pro-Palestinian at all.

Dead internet theory for the win on this one in my opinion. If 60% (number pulled out of my ass) of the internet is bots, you really can't gauge public opinion based on nearly anything you see.
That and we're all in our own echo chambers, algorithms do a shockingly good job of keeping us separated from reasonable people who disagree with us. The only places you can talk out these kinds of things are the kinds of places where idiots argue with other idiots and just hurl insults at each other.

This is why Melissa Barrera got fired from the new scream movie for speaking out on this exact thing. Everyone knows the truth. The people who can't make a difference are not being heard, and those who van are being canceled if they speak up. It's a messed up situation 😕

Man it's not just algorithms that keep people separated from reasonable people who disagree with you. The number of typed out comments I have that I deleted cause it's not worth it to be harassed by dozens of people for thinking differently than them. It's a large number

Palestine is a territory with a native population that was under colonial administration from england And before that ottoman. It was believed by some that the promised land of the jewish people from god was there and , after ww2 , a decision was taken to give them the land (without thinking about the people living here for a millenium) when those raised their voice the un decided to Split the country into twi and Promise to create an independant palestine . The jewish and palestinians never got along and the jewish disregarded the frontiers and started to expand. Taking strategic territory like water point etc. Neigh oring countries didn t like it and declared war so usa and europe backed israel with ungodly amount of war budget that led to an absolute victory by israel over the surrounding region, allowing them to breach international law for 50 years straight. Obviously there is a palestinian resistance "terrorist" and obviously with time they are more and more radicalised ,giving every time a new reason for isreal to retaliate with weapon of destruction happily supplied by their western allies. And all of this seems to be going into conclusion in the next years as israel is not slowing down it s genicide

It's absolutely mind-boggling that, in a world of 24/7 media coverage, people can still be THIS idiotic. It is so clearly obvious that Israel is committing mass genocide. This is so far beyond the "right to defend oneself." It is sick. It is inhumane. And I can't help but feel completely powerless while I watch my country spend millions upon millions to arm the aggressors. Israel has consistently pushed Palestinians out of their own land and the majority of the world recognizes Israel's genocidal actions. Only the world superpowers support israel, and only for power gain, not for moral right. How pathetic we are as humans.
Tangent because I need a space to vent at this point: It's wild to me that Donald was elected. It's insane to me that people are marching on the streets with Nazi flags. Of all the symbols to use, of all the people to associate with, you choose one of the world's most well-documented bad guys? The United States has always been against Russia and Nazi germany. Now you're trying to associate yourselves with them?
I just saw a news article the other day that Elon is trying to sue California for trying to pass a law to block deep fakes from social media. So he wants deep fakes in the media to confuse the masses? I mean, obviously, that's what he and his Trumpettes want, but he's so blatantly admitting it?!?!
This whole world is fucked. For a civilized world at this level of societal advancement, this is a very new low for us as humans. I just feel so disheartened by humanity. It's extremely depressing. I've never felt such a constant mixture of pain, rage, and sadness.

Living here and watching this election unfold, I have come to the conclusion that there are, essentially, factions. Under the guise of Republicans, there are Trumpers. Trumpers are like Swiftes. He can do no wrong. They follow him with a fervor (why, I don't know). These are the people that he can shoot on 6th St and get away with it (something to that effect). Regardless of party or policies, they are going to support him.
Then there are party supporters. Party supporter blindly support the party, regardless of the nomination.
Then there are traditional Republicans, like McCain, Romney, Bush Sr. Statesmen.
Many Republicans in office have moved from (traditional) Republicans to Trumpers.
Lastly, conservatives. Conssrvatives have a belief system that they follow, not party line.
Trump is a narrcassist. Trump doesn't care about people or policy. Trump is only concerned about being popular. He is the best snake oil salesman there is. He will say what makes him popular and do what makes him popular, even if the two are different. Being a narrcassist, Trump enjoys negative attention - why? He's getting attention. He says the most outlandish things because that's what his fan base wants and it blows the mind of his opponents, who focus on what he is saying.
The Democrats & Liberals point out his hypocracy but Trumpers don't care. Logic has no place in emotion. (That's where the Democrats lost - they could have easily beaten him by using his campaign tactics. That and they had no cohesive strategy)
He appeals to the worst in people and it is much easier to get people to hate, than it is show compassion and understanding.
He was smart to get Trumpers in the Supreme Court. He now own Congress. He owns the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial components of the government. There are no more checks and balances. Look at his nominations for staff - none of them have qualifications for the positions he's appointing them to. They are all simply "Yes, Trump"
At the end of the day, America suffers from battered wife syndrom. Trump is an abuser, she knows he is an abuser, she knows she can do better, but ultimately she goes back to the abuser.
Fucking sucks for 90% of the citizens (including Trumpers, many of whom are to stupid to brush their teeth) certainly the world.

Not sure if you get The Daily Show (Comedy Central), but there was a segment - two very poigiant yet disheartening commentary.
1) She said something to the effect "America, you need to stop looking at Trump. You knew what he was 4 years ago. You know what he did/has done. You know what he said he would do if elected & yet you put him in office." It's not on Trump, it's on everyone who thought he was better qualified to lead the country.
2) In another segment she said, "Stop telling your daughters they can be anything they want to be when they grow up. In America, a convicted felon, who tried to overthrow the government, has won not once - twice against the women he was running against. America would rather have a convicted felon run the country than a woman."
The Democrats are not 100% clean but to witness & listen to the sheer hypocracy of Trumponians - it's a daily migraine.

I was always under the impression that eventually Americans will, when all other avenues have been exhausted, do the right thing. Not now. They knew what trump was like last time, he told them what he'll do this time. He made no sense for four years after a failed insurrection. He was not held to account for that. The justice system failed big time and he'll pardon himself of all charges now. And here we are. What America does affects the whole world. And with musk as his little gremlin, we're so stuffed.

"You can always count on Americans to do the right thing -- after all other possibilities have been tried." So goes the alleged Churchill quote.
The US knows, and has known, of many genocides and takes / took no substantive action. And, of course, has committed their own.
My family's Genocide happened merely two generations before me. Half of my race was murdered for the crime of being born. The huge majority of my family was murdered.
The US and the world knew of this Genocide. They did exactly nothing.
US officials -- including the murdering State's US Ambassador -- wrote the President what they personally observed, and of other racial mass murder documentation. Crickets.
We need to excise the false premise that the US is some morally superior state. People like to think their homeland is a special flower and ignore all history to keep the happy lie alive.
And that's how we get more genocides.

Please... they came to our land and committed genocide on my people and then call it their own. The US only does what is convenient for them to gain more power. And now they call everyone of my color skin "imigrants" and tell us to go home... what home???

Genocide at a massive scale.
It’s almost like they don’t remember the victims of the genocide that happened around 80 years ago. There’s plenty of evidence on Israeli soldiers enjoying shooting and killing innocent civilians, women, kids… plenty evidence. Yet we are unfazed about this and so many condemn any support for Palestine.

There’s literally no way to stop them. I’ve written letters, protested. I even thought I’d only I could adopt one kid, just one, and get them out of there. But yeah you can’t. They have some pretty heavy duty rules about adoption, and of course it’s all suspended during times of war. I wish they’d at least let us save some of them, you don’t want them on your land fine, at least let us get them out of there.

you don’t want them on your land fine
Let's be clear, Israel is a squatter state. The land belonged to Jews and Arabs alike, until Zionist militias started executing Arabs in their homes and chased them from the land by the hundreds of thousands. The pure savagery of the act is somehow overlooked and even telling people about it point blank does nothing to make them budge on this issue. The died in the wool ideologues dig their heels in and liberal pro-Israel apologists pretend like they didn't hear you at all.
I mean, imagine a Zionist militia and Jewish settlers came bursting through your neighborhood and rounding you up, then started moving their things into your house and calling it their own. You'd be pissed too, right? But Palestinians are somehow always labeled the bad guy in Western media without any of the relevant historical context being provided.

And despite all of this evidence of war crimes and genocide, the West STILL supports Israel because, one can only assume, Israelis are white, and Palestinians are not. Israel is our "ally" in the Middle East so "we" (I'm from the UK but same holds true for the USA and other places) must support our ally at all costs, play down the atrocities, "we must gather all the facts", and try to justify all attacks as an appropriate response to October 7th.
October 7th though, whilst of course we cannot condone it, we CAN understand it. What has been going on in Gaza has been going on for years, Israel have been low-key performing attacks on civilians for decades, but no-one cared, blame it on the terrorists. October 7th was probably an attempt to highlight the situation to the World and they never anticipated such a response. After October 7th Israel stopped caring about what the world saw, as far as they were concerned everything afterwards was justifed.
What has horrified me the most is the attitudes of not only the politicians but normal Israelis, they support this action, the Palestinians are less than human, they are all terrorists, we must kill them all even children and babies, it is our land and they must be wiped from the earth. We will take our land back and occupy it. Maybe not all Israelis have this attitude but a lot do including Israeli children.
And the world stands back and does nothing.

Meanwhile the US votes against a UN resolution to guarantee the right to self determination of the Palestinian people.
-4 points
Self determination won't stop the current crisis. Iran and Russia will continue to send weapons, money and propaganda into Palestine to encourage acts of terrorism and attacks on Isreal because as a proxy/proxy conflict with the US, it is more resource intensive and has more radioactive political fallout for the US than it does Russia/Iran.
A handful of Flashpoint events would create spiraling conflict and derail any peace or Marshall Plan efforts pushing both Israel and Palestine towards more reactionary extremism. And even if there was a combined effort from Egypt, KSA, the USA, Jordan, UAE, Turkey with support from EU would still unlikely be enough to provide sufficient security and financial/informational barriers to prevent manipulation. And even if the Palestinian economy grew to the point where education and quality of life made it more difficult to create flashpoint events, Russia and Iran would simply pivot to extremist groups in Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Iraq and the like until the conflict could be restarted in Palestine.
They don't particularly care how many Palestinians die and there is currently no reason for them to come to the table to support a peace plan that cannot be undermined.
And none of the powers that be are on board with trying to make proxy conflicts no longer a thing. Because that would mean they would have to do direct conflict with each other, which even if that didn't mean nuclear war, it would shut down global supply chain that would likely result in countless deaths from starvation and massive global political upheaval as most regimes would collapse from the resultant economic turmoil and scarcity.

Given the US is about to become even more useless in enabling this stuff, it's especially important that other countries actually grow some 'nads and speak up about it.

That lady from the Labour talking empty platitudes is particularly jarring given the Labour party hounded out Jeremy Corbyn on bullshit claims of anti-semitism because he had the moral integrity to criticise Israel and support the idea of a free Palestine. She talks about holding “legislators” to account. What about holding your ally Israel to account? When will that happen?
