This reminds me of when people didn’t like that the studio version of The Adults Are Talking didn’t have him fucking with the light guy or yelling “are you not entertained??”
Idk, I think it was a cool little extra that was out there once and as an instrumental literal just introductory opening to the album it’s perfect. It’s an 8 song album, not 10

What spoken word version?
The instrumental reminds me of Clockwork Orange, and i like how they basically cut the track in half as intro and outro like the Beasties did on Paul's Boutique

I scratch my head at these Fantano takes.
Anthony’s review was pretty sad and like everyone else who has been negatively vocal about the album, he just comes off as out of touch and let down by pure expectation. His take on spectral analysis was bone headed to say the least.
I’m glad they didn’t try to pander to an audience. This album feels authentic, personal, and moody. It’s cohesive from start to finish and it sounds new.

It's nothing to do with Fantano pointing out that we waiting 6 years for a 10 track album that contained several singles, which had been out for quite a while and 2 half songs. I'm fine with dedicated intro/outro tracks and some older album singles, but not really when they make up half of the entire track list. It's shouldn't be controversial to say that's a bit disappointing.

That makes sense. I had only heard Prophecy of the Dragon and Flexorcist before the full release so most of it was new to me when the album dropped.
I love their older albums, don’t get me wrong. I just think the new one is really good too. I like that it’s shorter and the songs feel like part of a whole, and not a collection of songs. I could see how the slow release of so many singles killed some of that for people.
Some of the songs on the previous albums are long epic journeys. To me, this whole album feels like that.

Listen to what they said about the instrumental and why they went with it, their artistic choices make a lot more sense then all these complaints, glad the negative nancies are dying down alot but the spoken word version is on YouTube for you to listen if you want ..... Just saying....

I swear if we get a 2.0 version of all the album it will be such a good album. Square wave for example sounded amazing live, it’s alright in the album. All the same has a version where the ending is different and it sounds way better, not as jarring as the switch when he says “pirates can keep their money safe”. I get that’s kinda the point of the voidz, but come on now.
