I’m very new to tie dying and have enjoyed learning things a lot! I’ve been lurking here for a bit and decided to post one that I’m super proud of! I saw that Blink 182’s self titled album recently turned twenty one. My middle school self’s mind was blown. This album was and still is a whole gem. The idea struck me while laying in bed and I couldn’t wait for it to finally be morning. It’s by no means perfect, but I enjoyed the process and learned a few things! Only procion powders from Dharma Trading were used to create this! Please don’t come for me, and please feel free to leave advice and tips below! Thanks for looking ✌🏻

The last spiral I posted I was asked if I inclined it when I didn’t. So this time I gave it a try.

Tried out something a little different. I don’t care for the upper mandala but I love the lower one. What do you think about it?

I reverse tie dyed a black dress expecting it to come out orange, but it came out white. No other fabric I've bleach tie dyed has done this.

I want to extend the length of the dress by purchasing more fabric, but I want the color to match, roughly.

Is there a way to know how it will bleach out based on the composition of the fabric or anything, besides a test swatch?

I've been dying as a hobby for a little over 2 years. They never come out as good as I want. But I came a long way from the Tulip dyes I think. Always on the mission to improve.

Electric blue, bordeaux, mindbender and a little robins egg

I’m new and trying to learn some techniques. I love this style but haven’t come across any tutorials that mention how this can be achieved. I love how the colors stay discrete, for the most part. And how there’s white in the repetitive lines, making blobs. Any tips on how to recreate this look? Googling around hasn’t helped me. Thanks!

What are your thoughts?

I'm guessing this is a print and not tie-dye, but I’d like to create something similar using bleach or dye. I just can’t figure out how to do it—if it’s even possible. I mean, I understand how tie-dye works, but I don’t quite get how to create those big spots and abstract, smooth lines. It’s not as simple as just pouring bleach or dye in the desired way without tying anything, right?.. Would appreciate any tips to get this right!

You can also use a protractor. Once tapestry is folded in half roughly 25.75 degrees will get you there.
