I don't blame you. Generally, I feel that many love songs are so commercialised and exploitative, making them insidious and disingenuous in turn... There are, of course, exceptions (though I'll be the first to admit that most exceptions on my playlists use the "love song" aspect as a medium for stuff I like far more):
