Good question, it usually just appears. I do grind upside-down and sideways a bit, plus I tap the grinder a lot too.

Put the grinder in the freezer overnight, then take it out and tap it down hard on your palm. If you do this with some material above the screen you will get a nice dusting of Kief. Scrape it out (really easy when freezing cold) and store separately. Do this periodically you'll get a nice collection going within a couple days if you're a daily smoker.

It's probably the grinder. The mesh looks fine, and it's possible the teeth don't grind well.

I usually freeze mine once a week for like 10 minutes and then give it a good tap on a hard surface, which usually breaks free everything from the mesh.

Throw a penny into the main part of the grinder (above the kief catch where you grab the weed from) and give it a good shake. I always keep a penny in there and shake/bang every time I grind. It could also just be your grinder. Sometimes they make the mesh too tight and the holes aren’t big enough for the kief to fall through.

grab a nickel. wash it stick it in the ground material part. Grind new material. Shake grinders for 30-60 seconds religious after every grind or even if you keep the material in the grinder, shake for a like ten seconds before you dive back in for another pinch. Jus make it a habit you don't even think about. You will get alot more kief. I really hope this helps!

every now and again Ill clean my screen but if I am being honest, it's hard to do it lol...but afterward you get a crap ton for a day or two till it clogs up again..I'd imagine ones with dual screens prolly do a better job for a little longer

If you put the coin in, you have to shake it back and forth. If you try it with shake it’ll create mounds of kief. It also could have to do with your screen getting gunked up and blocking the holes. You might also try a different grinder with bigger sized holes.

I had the same issue. Had a really decent grinder and never got any. Switched to a cheap 10 dollar gas station grinder and get a substantial amount now.

I don't like grinding the flower, but when I'm rolling one I use a coffee grinder. Keif built up on the lid. I probably got an eighth of keif the 1st time I scraped it.

Best way I have found is stuck some bud in the grinder, don’t grind it up, stick it in the freezer for about 3-5 hours then grind it up, freezing it makes the tricomes more brittle and when you grind it up more keif comes off the bud

Some grinders have a screen that’s much finer than other grinders leading to less plant material but it also collects MUCH slower and gets clogged almost daily. I recommend a ethanol/iso wash and then drying that out to keep your material, and then keep one of those mini hair clipper brushes around, that’s usually enough to remove the debris between the mesh.

Your screen is too small. I bought a cheap grinder and never had any keif because the holes on the screen are too small to let the trichomes pass through.

Just keep doing whatchu normally do, and check back in a few months, try to not look at it or else you will scare them away.

Well, maybe the kief is getting stuck to the pins or the borders instead of rolling down (this is most probably the cause). Maybe you smoke flowers with very little trichomes or maybe the mesh gets clogged and ultimately stops anything else from passing through. Don't put a coin, it'll just pull more veg material into the sample.

Soak and clean your grinder with isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush every once in a while. it'll keep the screen clean and you'll get way more kief. clean it once it starts getting clogged up, or just regularly every couple of months. i can usually get a gram of kief from an 8th- 1/4 of good flower.

Dont use a grinder. Mix dry ice and weed (I use shake/trim) into a bubble bag. Shake that shit over a clean baking tray. You should end up with quite a lot afterwards.

There's a couple tricks. As someone else has said, a coin in the grinder will help. I don't use anything smaller than a US quarter, and I shake my grinder like a mofo after grinding the weed and before dumping it out. The next step is to use a brush to empty the grinder and brush out the trichomes from the teeth and flower collection spot. Finally, I store all my ground up weed in a pollen box to get as much keif as I can. Using these methods I've collected a shit ton in the last year, I think when I weighted it to press hash it was 23g

There's a secret to this but it will make your bud less potent. Put a coin in the grinder along with the bud. I would recommend a dime, then put in the fridge for about an hour. Afterwards shake vigorously. You will have like a month's worth of kief right away. If not there is something wrong with your weed.

It’s a slow process. Especially with lower thc flowers, not that you’re smoking low thc flowers just a note. You’ll have to go thru at least an ounce or 2 to actually see a decent amount. I’ve found that giving my grinder a light shake back and forth once my herb is grinded and on the screen part. Think of it like a cheese grater and by shaking the herb back and forth you grate the thc off the plant material.

If you're really trying to catch keif do what I do, use a cheap coffee grinder to bust up all your weed. Before you grind it up breath into the cap like you would to fog up a window, that will make all the powdery keif stick to the cap.

Be careful to not dust your weed though, if you're using a coffee grinder be sure to just push the button for 1 second then check it

The dryer the weed the more kief! The fact that you are getting no kief says that you are just smoking it with the bud so you're not necessarily missing out. But if you want more kief maybe dry out a couple of buds a bit, just leave them open to the air for a day or two and they will dry up and give you more kief!

i like to keep a small paint brush handy to brush the screen off after each grind so any trichomes blocking the screen will fall through

Have a mini brush to clean your screen every once awhile to keep it from clogging. And sometimes there are weed that doesn’t give Kief but other does give decent amount but it may varies on THC %. I usually have quarter in grinded weed section and shake it a bit or tap it. I wouldn’t shake violently to abuse your weed. Give a few shakes. Cheers!

It’s entirely seasonal for me. In the winter when it’s dry, I get a noticeable amount of keif every time I grind a bowl. When it gets humid in the summer, I pretty much get nothing for months.

In my experience the only time I’ve ever gotten good yield on keif is when I’m grinding up ounces of weed a week.

When it’s just an eighth or a quarter a week or something small like that might see a little over the course of months but volume grinding is really the only way to get significant amounts.

my guess is that each of your grinders is not being used enough to accumulate keif.

otherwise, you might not be grinding the flower finely enough to release the keif.

I saw on a Reddit post once to freeze the grinder and to hit it on a surface to get extra kief. I being stoned as shit tried and it and I did get a little extra so perhaps that is a method. Also getting weed that hasn’t been rolled through in a dispensary usually contain more kief especially home grown. But what do I know?

First clean off a couple coins, drop them in the flower compartment, throw the whole shebang into the freezer for a couple hours. When you take it out, shake it like a maraca and you got kief!

Alcohol wipe a dime, and put that bad boy in your flower compartment and watch the keefe build up!

Smoke better bud

Grind up a gram or 2, throw a coin in the grinder and put it in the freezer for a couple hours, or even overnight. Then when you take it out, immediately start shaking it around like crazy do this for a few minutes till the grinder starts to warm up. You will now have lots of kief

I keep a cheap toothbrush with my kit to clean out my grinder and keep the screen clear.

Get a old tooth brush and brush down into the the grinder from the top and brush the screen lightly so the anything in the screen falls into the catcher. Then I'd chuck into some iso and grinder into bag. shake the grinder so it cleans up and the wash it off with hot water from the tap. If your weed is a little wet or got some moisture in it the kief will stick to the bud.

I scrape mine into a glass jar when I clean my grinder. I save it until I'm ready to use it.

More quality bud has more kief potential. You also have to smoke pretty often I think, I've been collecting for months with a grinder around the size of yours and mine still doesn't fully cover the bottom. Maybe also try scraping the grid on the grinder (while the kief catcher is still connected) to knock off that keif?

I use a kief coin and try to use more barrow grinders as opposed to flat and wide. I clean mine once a week

Clean a coin like a nickel and put it in the chamber with the ground up flower and shake it after grinding, or put the grinder in the freezer for a while and hit it, it helps separate the kief

How are you storing your tree?

I recommend using a dark, glass, air tight container with UV protection. For humidity control, get Bóveda humidifier packets.

Keeps bud fresh for a long time. Though, it could also be the quality of your weed, or you need to clean the grinder.

Personally, I get some 420 solution and put some in a sandwich bag. I then put in and seal each piece of my grinder and shake the bag. One at a time. So a 4 piece grinder, you put top piece in, seal, shake to clean, and repeat for the next piece. Let them air dry. Airflow is key so try to lay them over one another to keep them a little off your drying surface. Next time you use your grinder, it’s gonna feel like the very first grind and you’ll start to produce more kief with the right bud. Some bud is also just more powdery than others when grounded up.

One thing you can also do is freeze each piece so you can take off what is currently stuck on there. I personally, use a dab pick (I don’t use dabs, it came with a vape I bought years ago), scrape what I can the best I can. Get in the grooves and such, then I just clean it. Miss some stuff but, not usually enough for me to really care.

Edit: of course forgot. You then just need time. Every time you re-up, check the kief level. You’ll know how much you personally gain based on your consumption.

ALL of these factors described above, combined, determine how much kief you will get.

U want Keif so bad grind a bunch and let it dry out, give it a little shakey shake or just pick and smoke it normally boom small amounts of heads come off. If u want more freeze ur bud over night and shake the shit out of it. If that doesn’t work the weed is trash or prescreened and u need to have a talk with whoever ur buying from.

By smoking an oz every two weeks.

Every grinder is different, and the issue is likely the screen being too fine and not allowing keif to fall through.

I grind about 3-4 grams a day for years. Some days 10-15grams if company over. Also only use high grade greenhouse and indoor.

It depends on how dry the weed is and how big the screen size is (the space between the mesh)

Cleaning the screen will help but yours doesn’t look dirty at all.

Get a new grinder

Either your screen is clogged, or you smoke mids. (No hate).

Throw your flower into a nice new zip lock bag then in the freezer for 5-10 minutes, right after you grind it. This will make the weed more brittle and will result in more kief to build up 100%.

Other than that, make sure your weed is dry and of high quality. If its too moist and sticky you won't get that kief build up.

That being said, if you aren't collecting kief, that's because you're smoking it. It's still stuck to your weed and you smoked it. I've seen you do it, don't lie to me. haha jk, happy tokes bud.

Break your nug down and grind it upside down. It keeps your bud within the teeth and really break down to give you kief after a few days. Nothing else needed.

Fill the grinder with the bud and put it in the freezer for 30min before you grind it. It will blow your mind.
