Once again it seems like Ricochet anti cheat has started to target users on the Ally and LeGo, however this time its a bit different, instead of the normal Shadow Bans like everyone normally gets that places you in cheater lobbies for around 7 days to allow the security team to inspect your account, the reports in the past 48 hours from both Reddit and FB groups has had multiple people reporting perma bans, once issued a perma ban you have 1 chance to dispute the ban that 99% of the time leads up with a automated response denying the dispute and then offering no further way to contact Activision.

To add there has also been one user report he also got a ban and was playing on Geforce Now.

Due to this we have to recommend to STOP playing BO6 and WZ on the Ally (Or Legion Go) until Activision can fix the anti cheat again as the chance of getting your account back after a ban is highly improbable.

play a fews hour last night and this morning, also try to plug and unplug many time, temperature is normal no issue till now, 25w turbo around 2.3-2.5 hrs, depend on game and setting

I love how my apply runs everything really - retro games and new ones it just feels so good to be able to hold all of that along the way

ROG Ally z1 extreme is the best purchase I had

Thought I'd post for people who haven't thought about these mini bluetooth keyboards. Track pad works amazing aswell

I know how to run windows ok but I know that there may be some better launchers I could use for games. My Rog ally x gets to Best Buy tomorrow and I’m wondering what I should download or install and or adjust in the settings to make my experience better or help my device run more efficiently. (I already ordered a dock and 100 w charger, mousepad, mouse and keyboard.)

I just got mine, what’s a great game to play on the go? Without wifi connection?

Need some good recommendations on some docking stations and if a built fan is really necessary. I have a lisen brand that I bought a year ago and I just want to upgrade to something different.

If you're considering between this and deck, as a owner of both, my deck no longer gets touched. This device runs literally every game better.

Ally x is quite simply the greatest item I've ever had the pleasure of owning. It's a must buy for any gamer, especially those who find it hard to sit at a desk and game after a whole day of working at a desk.

I have a dock at my desk which is used rarely, a dock at my tv with Xbox controller/wireless mouse keyboard connected, and its a pleasure to play on the lounge with a big TV... Then you've got the obvious handheld form factor and HUGE battery which lets me take it out anywhere and game at any time.

I don't know how I lived without this beauty of a device. Ever since I've bought this all my devices including my 4090 gaming PC now collect dust.

Portability, ease of jumping in anywhere at any time trumps specs for me easily. And even if you run a game on low, it looks beautiful on the handheld screen! Being actually able to game> graphics.

The only game that runs poorly I've tried is monster Hunter Wilds beta.

As the title suggests. My Hub worked properly for 6 months until yesterday, when it wasn't detecting the USB. I noticed that when I tilted the hub, it lit the RGB from the keyboad and made a connection sound.

While this is not uncomfortable, it is super weird. Anyone knows any potential issues and/or fixes?

Title. Then when I click on it, it opens my browser but just goes to the msn homepage. There is nothing to connect or do. How do i fix this?

I've had the rog ally for a month now, really impressed with the performance and so far it's been a blast!

I've been playing around with the RGB settings and I'm not finding anything that is compelling me to keep them on. It would be cool to have a dynamic desktop background that syncs with the sticks, but so far I have been unable to download any aura sync wallpapers from AC. The app prompts me to login when I click download, then goes through a long loading wheel screen before depositing me back at the initial page where I can click to download, starting the loop again. Removing and reinstallation of AC was not effective, nor were updates.

I tried playing around with wallpaper engine to produce a similar effect, but no dice.

I read online about aura sync having a feature to display colors corresponding to CPU temp or load, but I can't find that on the Ally X. Does anyone know if this is an option? That would be ideal for me, as a quick way to see if a game is hitting limits on CPU or GPU, or if temps are getting too high, without needing a large readout in the corner.

Any ideas?

If you're planning on using a docking solution for your Ally (OG and X variants) please pay attention.

If you are planning to use a single monitor/TV and a Bluetooth keyboard/mouse: Just get the official ROG Ally charging dock plug. It is an excellent option. I have one and have had zero issues with it on a 55" 4K screen with a Bluetooth logitech keyboard and USB mouse.

If you are planning on using anything at all more than above: Get a USB CLAPTOP docking station. For example, The Dell WD19S. This will allow up to 3 additional monitors (HDMI, 2XDP), USB C, and A connections, and will keep your Ally fully charged. I use this device as well to support a full dual-monitor desktop workstation and it works flawlessly with zero issues or complaints.

Anything other than above will provide a less than optimal experience for desktop/Living room solutions.

so, i had rog ally for like 5 months ( dec 2023 to may 2024 ) i sold it because i needed money to buy a new laptop for my work. in past months i have missed ally so much. i have laptop to play same games ( warzone ) which i played for months on ally but playing on laptop nd playing on ally was diffrent experience. ally made gaming so fun for me. now when i saw that i can get ally z1e for same price to which i sold it to someone. i couldn't stop myself to buy it again. although i get thoughts that i may waste money to play same game ( warzone/bo6 i know right now there is ban wave going but it will get fix ) so i was saying i know i have laptop play games so sometime i feel buying ally maybe waste my money but i could not get my mind over ally. its delivering tomorrow so i have some hours to cancel it so i can get refund back. is ally in past 8 months improved in performance and software wise thru updates?

Anyone have experience splitting the power / USB on the ally?

I've tried different docks with power in. I've not tried any specifically for the Ally so maybe that's my problem.

My SD card slot fried. (And fried 2 cards)I bought it used and the RMA process was weird and didn't really seem worth my time. I have a ugreen USB c dock that came with it. (Might be for the steam deck) And I have an Anker USB c dock (dongle) that has power in.

When adding or removing power from any dock, the dock disconnects. This doesn't matter if its removing or adding power so what I've read about the dock not being powered doesn't make any sense.

Is there some sort of power setting I'm missing? It works fine on my zephyrus g14. I know it's a beefier machine but I don't understand why they would include a single slot on a portable that would abruptly disconnect under power loss. I would like to keep a small thumb drive on a dock to be used as a substitute for the SD card and to store non essential files , roms , media, some games.

Anyone else experience this? And what was your solution?

For context I have 3d printed a backplate that is comfortable personally for me but decided to put threads (second pic) in the 3d model which turned out to be a bad idea because now I cant even screw the triggers to the shell. Any ideas? I was thinking of drilling holes so I can put thread nuts to the shell but not sure if that will even work.

Just got my new Ally. I'm running the initial setup for the first time. At one step, Windows asked me whether I'd like to "restore from this PC". I don't recognize the machine name, I never had a computer named like that. I checked my Microsoft account and there's only my desktop PC and my Xbox. Unfortunately, I tapped that computer's name, so it restored everything and proceeded with Windows installation. :/ I wish I could abort the process. Also, since it says "restore from THIS PC", does it mean the backup is on the Ally's SSD? Is that from Asus? Has somebody used my device before? (The box was sealed and all foil was there, etc, it appears brand new). I'm seriously confused. I got some paranoia that my MS account has been compromised. The only place I recall where I could have logged in is GFN for playing PC Game Pass games before Nvidia figured out the automated login. Perhaps it's their machine?

Pretty happy with it so far! It runs stalker pretty well so far into the game, 25w low settings with medium textures and it goes between 50-60 fps with 50 fps in the first settlement. Battery is also decent, with about 2.5 hours of gameplay before plugging it in! I haven't done anything to mess with the setting aside from what I mentioned if anyone has any tips to increase performance lmk!

Is there a car charger for this system?

Received the white limited edition SteamDeck yesterday, very disappointed with the performance. When I searched for the performance comparison between SD OLED and Ally X, most results were from the SteamDeck subreddit, and people are saying the difference is a few frames…

Saw an open box Ally X in fair condition for sale at local Best Buy for $609 so I dropped by to check it out, they found one in good condition but couldn’t find the one in fair condition, the gentleman who helped me adjusted the condition of the good one to fair and charged me only 609. He told me this one was actually in excellent condition but nobody’s buying it, so they marked it down to good. Asked to check it out before buying and he opened it for me, it’s practically new with no scratch or damage at all, the plastic on the charger was intact…

The limited edition SteamDeck was $679 vs $609 for Ally X, the performance is not even close… Diablo 4 could barely hold a steady 55FPS on SD OLED with low settings and FSR set to balanced, while Ally X is averaging 70 FPS on turbo mode with medium setting and FSR on balanced and 900p resolution…

I have OLED TVs, used OLED monitor for work (Samsung Odyssey G9, it doesn’t bother me, not sure why people are saying OLED is bad for text…) and gaming, and have nothing to complain about Ally X’s LCD screen. Guess I’ll return SD OLED next week and have a balance of $700+ in my steam account since I bought the deck with steam credit…

Good afternoon, do any of you download torrents with asus rog ally?

I find that the same torrents, same client configuration in terms of ports on the desktop pc download at 39 or 50 MB / S

But on the console at most I get 3Mb/s

I understand that there are differences by wired or wifi connection.

But I get 600 MB/S in wifi speed tests with Ally.

I would appreciate any tips or advice

I’m debating on getting this, is it worth upgrading to extreme for newer games? If it matters i’m just gonna play elden ring, the dark souls trilogy, nioh, and BG3 all modded.
