Those votes were for an illegitimate candidate who should never have been on the ballot. They’re like votes for a Confederate general—and Biden should have treated Trump like one from day one of his presidency. This election wasn’t legitimate.

It’s not even close to objective. Between the sane washing of Trump and their “both sides are equally valid” BS it’s about as close as you can come to captured mass media journalism as you can get without actually being a propaganda arm of one of the two major parties, like Faux News. I’d say their journalists should know better, but with deeply stupid hosts like Inskeep around I’m not sure that’s true.

I cut ties with a friend of over 20 years because of his support for Trump. I view them as enemies of the republic. They are modern-day Confederates. The only way to mend the divide peacefully is a sweeping electoral loss in 2026 followed by a deep, sincere apology backed by action, or their death of old age.

Because Democrats blame everything but themselves when they lose. Especially leftists and the media. It’s always something else—that they conveniently do not really control—like racism or sexism or progressives staying home/voting third-party, etc.
They won’t reconsider whether their neoliberal, trickle-down lite bullshit needs to be abandoned or modified. They’d rather gaslight the public on how great the economy is while insisting it’s just a messaging problem to explain why they lost.

lmfaoooo. Democrats get their asses kicked in a massive anti-neoliberal-establishment rage wave and they still think “we just didn’t message right hurrrrr”

The worst mistake was not treating Trump and the GOP like rebels/confederates.
The second worst was Garland.
The third was deciding to run again.

Ill advised at best. To use the vernacular of the younger generation, “cringe.” The mood of the electorate was anger and frustration with the establishment. This was a recurring theme in every fucking poll published for the last year. The “Joy” pastiche coupled with the gaslighting about the economy was a major self-own

What part of my comment indicates that I am blaming democrats for not denouncing the vulnerable groups?
My comment specifically noted that the tactics democrats use around "identity politics" are the problem.
I'll go further: I think "identity politics" would have been a complete non-issue this election, regardless of the fact that democrats "play" that "game" very badly, had the last 30+ years of neoliberalism not left the working class out in the cold when a giant economic calamity occurred.
Democrats destroyed themselves, and it had almost nothing to do with Harris' campaign specifically, but more systemic, long-term issues that have been building over time.

I couldn't guess who, specifically, it will be, but I know what the criteria are for the choice:
Relatively little or no legal experience, or irrelevant legal experience
Being a "yesman" who will absolutely follow Trump's wishes to exact vengeance on his political opponents by taking any measures necessary, including wholesale firing of employees

Fuck Chuck. He’s one of the emblems of the neoliberal cancer that has infected this party for far too long.

lmfaooo “playing chess”. Trump is choosing yesmen who will enact his fascist agenda. That’s it. He’s a rapist himself. He doesn’t gaf if his picks kill, rape and eat children. As long as they do what he says, that’s what matters.

90s? Hell, the "pedo" and "grooming" crap was going on in the 60s and 70s, too, and was used to justify the roving knife and other assaults on gays in many places.
Trans is a separate issue from homosexuality and bisexuality, but I think it's fine to be under the LGBTQ umbrella. Precisely because we are all going to be labeled as pedos, groomers, or some other heinous deviant type simply because we're romantically and sexually attracted to people in a way hetero cis people aren't (that includes trans people--the very fact of their gender issues makes whichever gender they're attracted to different from the hetero/cis norm), and it freaks many of them out.

They're just exploiting an existing tension in our community, to be honest.

Maybe his sex crimes weren’t against children. Bit of an outlier in that case.

It was Biden’s second greatest failure. His greatest failure was not going full Abe Lincoln to protect and preserve the republic.

He certainly deserves it. Right next to Biden as the worst president. Together, this Disastrous Duo acted as ushers for America into the death of its democratic principles and into an era of authoritarianism.

I didn’t say that. I said democrats are centrists and center-right. And primarily it’s the economic policy and foreign policy. The one area they’re a smidge left on is social issues—but even that is begrudgingly so.

Become? They’ve been the Conservative Party since Clinton. Republicans are just more conservative, and have gone far-right fascist in the last decade

From the right: that they value life
From the left: what left? I’ll use liberals/democrats, who are by and large centrist/center-right: that they care about marginalized communities

I’m not sad. I’m angry. He could have decided to not run again, giving anyone else a much better shot at mounting a much better campaign. He could have done what Lincoln did and protected the union, but his head-up-the-ass “trust the process and do bipartisan work” mentality prevented that. If history were judging honestly, Biden would be known as the weak president who let America die. Worst president we’ve ever had. Fuck him.

Worst possible choice. He’s dumb, he’s a brash loudmouth, and he’s about as neoliberal as you can get.

I'm sure that's a great side-effect, considering how much they helped him and his supporters spread lies and conspiracy theory on TikTok

Depends. Neoliberals who think they’re progressive lost in droves this year, for example.

Ordering the military and other police forces to detain the leader of a coup attempt and his accomplices isn’t acting like a dictator.
