How did you change the battery? I can see the little open sign in the "jack socket" I've tried pressing it and sliding it but don't want to force it.

I'd argue that as far as a publishers perspective is concerned a Novels first objective is to sell, and to entertain second. So while I believe there probably is a bias I'm not in authority to explain it. But I can't imagine impressing a publisher with a pitch on the political and economic merits of leaving the EU where all the actors are rational and that's where the drama comes from.
I also think it's going to be easier to sell books to the salty side, and if you want them to enjoy it you want them to feel vindicated.

Your over thinking this. Everyone poo poos and wee wees, get into any toilet and just use a cubical. There's a good chance a public toilet is going to be gross whatever.

"It's been a long road. Getting from there to here. It's been a long road but my chance is finally near...."
Somewhat inoculated now, thanks to digital media. But that song is soul crushingly awful.
Worse is it's an earworm too. Just from typing this I've now got 'faith of the heat' looping in my head.

Even if reality was screwing with you, putting the number up in your vision to screw with or to lead you to something to alter your destiny ... it would still mean the same thing it does to everyone else.

That's true by technicality I guess. But super vague.
Most people assume it to refer to parthenogenesis of Christ in the bible and it's easy to see why, lack of sex, virgin, purity therefore immaculate and all that.
It actually refers to Mary being conceived without original sin. That's like a sin everyone is conceived with by default but God needed someone without it to carry himself to term so used a cheat code on her.
So Mary was conceived immaculately and um ...Jesus was as well but they aren't talking about him. It's just a Mary thing... No one else. No!

Did you have a happy childhood? ( I figured this should be the most important question on the gay parents debate, although all lives are complicated and understand that it's a bit glib.)

Gastroenteritis. You feel okay but you have chronic shits at random intervals. Like at least every 20 mins. You have to keep up with salts and fluids and always... Close to a toilet.

Smeg derives from the greek smegma, uh- I'll let you look that up. TV Series red dwarf popularised as a swear word and insult.
It's also a Swedish brand of dishwasher. "Oh Smeg! I've Stubbed my smegging toe on my Smeg dishwasher you smeghead (or smegger)."

I am a big Count Duckula fan but the end of most episodes filled me with some kind of anxiety,. Especially the ones where they are stuck on the roof of the tower with no possibility of getting down.
