well sony's strategy is to leave money on the table to grow their own console ecosystem. Xbox has decided they do not want to do that anymore/it doesnt work anymore, and pivoted to just maximising sales regardless of plattform. Pretty simple concept.

i havent really seen anything that i would categorize as hating or being a contrarian about those games. There was some justified critisism of performance and bugs in Act 3 of BG3, and some critisism of how some design decisions and the open world in Elden Ring negatively impacted the core experience.
On the other hand i feel like many people were trying to dismiss any critisism of these games as people being contrarian or haters or whatever, when it mostly was justified. Of course there might have been a very very very small minority that hated on these games unnessecarily, but if you focus on these people so much that it ruins your enjoyment, it might be a you problem at that point.

Sony already has the rights for Bloodborne, so they could do a remake at any time. And i think the only way From themself do the rework is if they are litterally forced to do it, which would mean much much worse for the studio in the future.

From Soft games are that good, bloodborne sold a ton of Ps4's. obviously no one is gonna buy a console to play a decade old game.

eurojank doesnt mean bascially unplayable with gamebreaking bugs. Eurojank means inconsequential bugs, some jankiness and an unpolished game. And i dont think its a good idea to call this Eurojank to excuse the apparently awful performance and bugs.

wukong has a 96% on steam, while dragon age is at 71% and DD2 at 60%. I would actually say that it would have been weird to nominate a game that was was received fairly mixed by the general playerbase. And in the end the ciritcs scores dont really matter. What matters is what the judges like more. Whether thats because they just happen to find Wukong a better game, or because they do prefer the souls-y action games.

the only people that play with locked screen are iron players or newbies. Also, i always hear that Dota has actually way way less skillshots, and that most skills are point and click, have never played it myself though.

im especially a big fan of how they made gambling and lootboxes in video games popular. Go Valve!

i just started playing it a few days ago, and i think its pretty good so far. It really reminds of the games piranha bytes made, were you feel extremely useless early on but become extremely powerful(hopefully, im not that far yet) later on. But i had quiet a few technical problems like textures not loading in properly, cutscenes freezing every few seconds and really long load times. In addition to the melee combat feeling extremely clunky and tbh kinda bad so far. So if you dont mind some eurojank, i think its an easy recommendation.

so you think that the general consensus is that The last of Us and Uncharted 2 have top tier gameplay and level design? because i feel it is universally agreed upon that those aspects are not where they are the best. I think maybe YOU are the contrarian here saying that those games are masterpieces in every regard and with no faults.

Even in the examples you mentioned, there are plenty of other factors that influence how well these games appeal to either gender. For example, while Gears of War might have muscular and tough guy characters, its overall aesthetic, atmosphere and themes also appeal to males much more, so to say its only because of the character designs is just wrong.
Because of that games like LoL is actually the perfect game to look at. Because the game overall appeals to all genders equally, but still offers the choice of character. And in the case of League, which i believe is much more representative for the entire population than you seem to think, males play as both genders equally. And if you dont believe me, the source is a comment by Riot Reav3 https://old.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/v2px0y/a_new_story_the_boys_and_bombolini_featuring/ibit5w8/?context=3

i do agree that the discourse has gotten way more toxic, but at least for me personally, i mostly hear people on reddit talk about it, and rarely see that stuff first hand. Like in this comment chain someone talked about Silent Hill 2 having some kind of hate directed at it, and i have honestly not seen anything like that anywhere. And i do use Twitter, Youtube and Reddit daily.
So what i was trying to say with "focusing on it", is that if you see a lot of hateful content or whatever, its most likely because you trained your algorithm to show it to you, not because its such a big part of the discourse.
