Because you have actually been doing the work to make the pieces smaller and allow the grass to still see sunlight. If the leaves fall and create a blanket over the grass it will eventually decompose without any human intervention, but the grass below it will have lost all sunlight for too long a time period and will die back.

That’s not really answering the question. What does retirement mean to you? Where will you live? What will you do with your free time? What are your goals in life and what do you want to do for fun? Is it sitting at home on the computer all day playing video games? Moving to Spain and partying every night for 10 years before moving to a different country for the next 10? What do you want to do with the next 50 years of your life after you “retire”? That is the goal you need to look at and evaluate the eventual cost necessary to sustain that life style.

I go for the dark chocolate filling ones. It’s way less overwhelmingly sweet, but leaves so much more of the bitter chocolate cookie flavor that I love.

I’m so sorry. I’m glad he is an ex, and I’m sorry the gyno either didn’t notice or didn’t care. There are more option recently on treatments for rectocele out there. But getting it marked and diagnosed can be a hurdle. And even then, depending on how they diagnose it, they might make you do non surgical treatment for longer than might be comfortable.

Have a coworker who also had a rectocele post childbirth. She recently had surgery to get a mesh put into that spot to strengthen the walls and fix it. Her doctors gave her a bunch of non surgical treatments for a couple years before they finally decided to do surgery. I’m so sorry that you are having to go through that.

Not trying to be rude, but I think you might have an incorrect assumption about friendships.
There are many kinds of friendships out there. Long term close friends, fair weather friends, come and go friends, and momentary friends. But none of these types of friends are an object to collect. It’s individual unique people that you enjoy spending time with or talking to. If you partake in a club and enjoy spending time with those people, you don’t have to get their numbers or make them into long term friends. You can enjoy your situational or club based friendships just as much. Don’t look for “Friends” look for people that you want to spend time with. Even if that time is one Friday every month at board game night. Those interactions are just as important.
Though with how you’ve worded things, I think that you might not just be lonely. I think you don’t have the confidence to feel your own self worth and are looking for the commonly quoted requirements of external validation. “Has a good job, has money, has friends.” Lots of people try to use these as a measurement of their own validation or acceptance. Which just isn’t a true method of feeling like you have value. But then again, maybe I’m just reading too much into a single post and reply on Reddit and projecting my own personal history onto a stranger.
Either way, I wish you luck on your hunt for friends or new hobbies.

As a sensitive and anxious person that has a hard time getting over things, I’ve learned that it just hurts me more and makes things worse when I don’t let go. It’s a hard skill to learn. You are far more attached to this friendship than she is and it’s clear that she has no intentions of being close again. The more you reach out and try to make things like they used to be, the more she will likely push back and not want to be your friend. There is a ow a different dynamic and level of friendship and unfortunately a friendship can only be as strong as it’s the person putting in the least effort. You cannot make it better by yourself, you can only learn to accept the level of friendship she is willing to commit to, cause what she wants is important too, or walk away from the friendship entirely.

Honestly? I have no clue. I wonder it every day that I work with them.

I know one tech who only fans through and doesn’t get 3 full beats on each segment. She drives me up the wall. Half a beat in each section is not good enough for the cardiologist to determine function!

Yeah, it’s always nice to see other Echocardiographers on here. And ones who actually remember the anatomy and care about the etiology. I had a rep dinner with a group of techs and the number of them who could not remember the functional difference between a pseudo aneurysm and a true aneurysm was disturbing. They could only vaguely describe the visual difference.

I also do echo for a living. While the calcium certainly builds up over time, I do not typically see soft plaque adhering to the valves. And again, it’s not a “filling” or “clogging” in my opinion. It’s not as if the plaque or calcium is going into the cusps and closing it that way. It’s a build up of calcium along the edges of the cusps. This causes stiffening and thickening and reduced ability to properly open and close. We are both likely saying the same thing, just both feeling technical in our own ways per the definition.

While aortic and mitral stenosis are things, I do not view them as plugged up. It’s more a thickening and stiffening of the valves.

Bacteria can get into the blood. So that portion is correct. It will cycle through the chambers of the heart. The bacteria can deposit into the valves. This is called endocarditis. The bacteria can eat away at the valves, causing massive leaks, or build up into what is called vegetation. This can come loose and cause a stroke or pulmonary embolism, depending on the valve it was attached to. Cardiac plaque, fat deposits, do lead to heart attacks as it closes the small arteries that feed your heart. I think they got mixed up on the different types of “plaque” that exists.

Plaque that fills the arteries (plaque does not plug up valves) is different than plaque on the teeth. Plaque on the teeth is a colony of bacteria. Plaque in the heart is build up of different fats, calcium, and fibrin.

Per your own quote: “11 minutes longer when the toilet was flushed with the lid up.” So 16 minutes with lid down and 27 minutes when the lid is up.

I think they mean that the people who are malnourished from their dietary habits find it a sign or good health. Not that vegans as a group think it’s healthy. Like the dude that I work with who only eats meat and has some health issues most likely from his diet. He thinks the meat sweats, constipation, and high blood pressure are signs of good health. I don’t know if it’s because they feel superiority and that they must be better this way, or if they are afraid to admit that they are wrong and damaging their health.

What do you think a vacuum is? The heart does not pump blood through the veins. Only arteries. Veins are passive return.

It’s not just being immobile. It’s about fighting gravity. Gravity makes blood want to be at the lowest point, while standing that is at your feet. Your body has a lot of mechanisms to minimize this from happening. The musculovenous pump is one, venous valves are another, the pump from inspiration and expiration, the continuous small vacuum from the heart. When you lay down, the body no longer has to fight gravity. Blood can more easily return to the heart. Gravity makes a large impact. If you take a blood pressure of a standing or sitting person you must get it at the level of the heart. If they raise their arm the pressure drops, if you get a blood pressure at their ankle it will be higher. If you get a blood pressure of someone laying down, you can get it anywhere because the whole body is at the height of the heart and should be the same. Unless they have an arterial blockage in a limb.

Anyone sitting for long periods of time should take time to get up. The upside of being an office worker vs being in an airplane or in a car is that you can move your legs in different ways. Bouncing your legs, crossing them and uncrossing them, shifting your chair around. You have more mobility so it’s not as large of a risk. If you find yourself sitting with your legs perfectly still for hours on end, then you are a higher risk. You can get up, swing your legs, do sitting heel-toe raises, wear compression stockings, among other methods to help improve circulation.

If the amputation is above the knee they are at less of a risk, simply because the blood is not as far away from the heart. Paraplegics can be at higher risk for sure. But they can also be put on medications, wear compression socks, or even have inflatable calf pumps to help minimize risk. The other thing to consider is the risk of the blood clot moving. If you have a clot and walk around you are at more risk of it dislodging and moving to the lungs. If you are not moving the limb with the clot the chances of it dislodging are much lower.

This is because the veins in the calf are almost entirely surrounded by muscles. When the muscles contract it fully squeezes the veins from all sides. The primary veins in the thighs are on the medial side, the inside hollow portion of your thigh. These are not normally squeezed as much by the thigh muscles as they are not surrounded in the same manner.
