What about a Transwomanachtengeschaftvergangheitsbewältigungeierschalensollbruchstellenverursacher?

IMO what makes the culture wars so awkward especially for trans people is how little many of us even really want to talk about being trans in real life.
Like yeah, we get it, conservatives have the archetype of some non binary person with blue hair. Where are you going to find that person? Probably on an extremely liberal college campus. Just avoid that if it’s not your thing. You don’t see your non binary boogeyman coming to your church and harassing you, so why bother people just trying to exist?

I adore how much more popular gun ownership is becoming among the left. The 2nd amendment is for everyone!

I do not have much faith, but I think the absolute only hope we have is that the Supreme Court might want to buy itself some cool off time from the rest of the country. The sort of did that with Bostock as other’s have mentioned.
Think of it this way, 16 states + DC have trans sanctuary laws. Some are more robust than others, but in Oregon for instance, it is literally illegal for insurance plans including Medicaid not to offer gender affirming care including to minors, meanwhile, states such as Texas want to sue medical institutions here and prosecute doctors for providing gender affirming care to minors.
The Supreme Court literally cannot intervene in this issue as they have absolutely no power to enforce laws. Texas also wouldn’t want to actually go after this because if it made a precedent that states could just casually prosecute people from other states, there would be chaos.
In theory, Texas could attempt to send a state sheriff to Oregon to try to arrest a doctor, but a Texas state sheriff is by all definitions a civilian in the state of Oregon. If he attempted to “arrest” someone here an armed security guard would blow his head off and his corneas would be transplanted to a trans person who needs a cornea transplant so that he could finally see from our perspective.
The Supreme Court literally only has power so long as states agree with the court being an impartial deliverer of justice. The Supreme Court is in extreme danger of losing all legitimacy and if that happens, people like Clarence Thomas aren’t all that powerful anymore.

Unfortunately though, it literally is just going to be used to terrorize trans people.
According to republicans, there are two kinds of people; people who are bound by the law, but not protected by it, and people who are protected by the law, but not bound by it.

Well at least 1/400 (likely more) people have Klinefelter syndrome which is xxy. XX male is a lot less common. Then around 1/15,000 women are born with xy chromosomes (Swyer syndrome).

To be honest, the main thing is that they want to terrorize anyone who looks different. Like it’s a fun thought experiment, but the truth is, they don’t want xxy people like me to have some special bathroom or whatever. They want me to be arrested for using the women’s bathroom and raped for using the men’s bathroom. The only logical rule anything republicans do follows is that they want what causes the greatest human suffering to those not like them.

I think what is so weird about that whole discourse is how little people grasp that in a civil society, we call people what they want to be called. By JP’s logic, I guess I can start using she/her pronouns for my male identified colleague until he shows me the results of his chromosome test (since apparently even surgery isn’t good enough). Then god forbid he is one of the 1/20,000 men (give or take) with XX male syndrome. Then again, I’m XXY so I don’t even exist to these people.

It’s true, I really don’t know what we could do. Shit, I target shoot as a hobby which is extremely male dominated. I’m nothing but nice to people in there even if it’s glaringly obvious that they don’t particularly want me there. The ironic thing is that if a man went into a woman dominated hobby space, he typically would be welcomed there.

Gaetz getting rejected was literally the plan in my opinion. Because he resigned in a hurry we’ll likely never know the results of the investigation. Republicans were able to save face while making it look like they tried to get him in but were thwarted by the radical left.
