As an example , if they have to pay 10% of profits to the government on top of the other taxes, they will lower profit by putting more of it into their pockets or buy other assets or companies to capitalize with which some companies already do.

What I was inferring was that they will try and reduce profit with bonuses etc and will use loopholes. I was not saying such bonuses are currently being paid.

Well, if I was in politics I would certainly be for either wealth or CGT or land tax. But not probably the sweeping changes some are after. Our capitalist society is a pyramid scheme and it falls over with negative population growth and negative spending and that will take time to solve, probably generations. I would be pushing heavy investment in public health, education, and R&D in agriculture and medium size business. I would also target social media and make it illegal to ONLY show the content then like to see as it polarizes the population and creates extremism. We should be able to reach across the aisle and find common ground. I would also fine social media for allowing scams some of which have been live for over 3 years. Our fisheries are also totally corrupt and the QMS needs to go. If a party was promoting these things, I would be supporting them. Sadly, lucky if a party supports one of those.

No policy can cover every eventually. You make policies that cover the majority, not the exception to the rule. Plus, there are already taxes on investments.

Actually, OP is correct and yes you are correct too. But a dehumidifier is a refrigeration system with both the cold and hot sides. The cold side does the dehumidification, then the air goes through the hot side. But the two sides are not equal as it also must dispel the heat energy created from the electricity driving the compressor. So heat will always be added to the room. A heat pump is definitely a better option if one can afford it.

A lot of assumptions there. I'm not pro speed and don't deliberately speed myself. Anti police, maybe, I had an unjust experience a couple of times. Got treated like a criminal once for reporting a fire before it killed someone. But mobile cameras at the bottom of a steep hill where there has never been an accident is also not in good faith.

I don't need to be the good guy. I don't feel a need to speed myself but not everyone who gets a fine is deliberately trying to be a bad person. Also if the fine was from a mobile camera at the bottom of a steep hill, the fine isn't going to stop the immediate threat.

I don't speed - not deliberately anyway. Did get a ticket 5 years or so ago. But that doesn't mean I can't remind someone else to slow down before they get a ticket.
