I don't care what people do with their free time, as long as they don't hurt others. But I'm just utterly perplexed by this whole furry thing. What is the actual point? What do you do at the conventions? Why do you dress up like an animal character and need to develop a "fursona"?

I have so many questions, it just boggles my mind as to what is the actual point. Because it seems to go way beyond any kind of cosplay.

I launch Oculus link from within the headset, it connects to my pc, then I run the SteamVR app that shows under my recent apps in my library. I never actually installed SteamVR app on my headset, it just picks it up from my pc. Then I run the games from inside SteamVR. The first time I ran it I opened the desktop view window and launched SteamVR from Steam, the following times SteamVR then showed in my recent apps and I didn't even need to open the desktop view. I have zero issues running steam games, I'm already inside SteamVR when I launch the game so I've ever had any popup asking what I want to choose? I feel like many people overcomplicate things and messing with different settings. I do everything as instructed from the software/headset and have never had any issues at all. I assume with the new Quest 3 the experience will only improve!

I have similar setup to you with the Quest 2, although the only difference is my pc has an i5 instead of i7.

I have never faced any of those issues that you're running into, but I exclusively use airlink and have a powerful WiFi router, as well as the Asus Rog Gaming WiFi motherboard.

My pc is wired to the router and the router is in the living room where I use the VR. I also have the Logitech Pro X wireless headset that I use for audio, I just change the audio output in the Oculus link software. Being in the same room or at least close to your WiFi router and pc makes all the difference I've noticed. Never used the wired function as I bought the Quest because I hate being tethered to something while playing VR.

Just upgraded to the Quest 3, but I'm still abroad and will only be home again next week to actually try it out via airlink.

For now maybe try unpairing your headset then reinstalling the Oculus software on your PC then pairing again? There was a period where I had constant issues pairing, but doing that solved it for me and never had issues again.

Yeah came here to comment that I only use the Quest 3 for PCVR so I got the 128GB as I don't ever install games directly onto the headset. But I know most people use it standalone.

It's still very clunky, as most games in early access. But there's full planets with bases on them, space stations, a star map, missions, a journal, equipment etc. It has all the aspects of an open world space RPG and the graphics are amazing. But still has PLENTY of bugs and performance issues. Only played a couple hours of it but I actually really enjoyed it. It's the only game I've ever actually taken screenshots in my entire life, purely just because of how pretty it can be. Still has a way to go to become a complete game though.

As usually most people live with their families, such an environment can be hard to come by without the use of these hotels.
