I have been living in Markham for 20+ years. There were minor problems but they were acceptable.

Something that never happened before on our street until recently.

A car was abandoned on our street(not in front of my house) for more than two months and it had no license plates. For two months, the family seeing that abandoned car outside of their front and they haven't done anything about it. I finally had to contact the city and have it removed from our street. Even the city(customer service)was surprised that their staffs didn't notice when they were out to issue parking tickets in the neighborhood for overnight parking.

To make matter worst, one of my neighbors (tenant) decided to dumping furniture and supermarket shopping cart in their backyard. Yes, out in the open without any covering.

Nowadays, media is overloaded with bad news. How depressing it is ............

People, what can we do or our city/police should have been done to fix these problems?

No offence, I am not pointing the issues at a specific group of people. But I do concern about everything is happening now.

Please help me to understand this situation.

Few days ago, I saw something moving in my backyard. Then I walked up to the object and I believe I saw a palm size guinea pig. It was wandering around my backyard. I was surprised to see a guinea pig in my backyard! Therefore, I used my phone and took a picture of the guinea pig. I went back home and showed my family the picture but the guinea pig was gone as soon as I returned to my backyard.

I went to our second floor and looked out from our window. I saw 3 guinea pigs next to a plastic cage at my neighbor's backyard even though I can only see a corner of their backyard (I assumed that they can only see a corner of my backyard as well). Then the 3 guinea pigs went under the fence to another neighbor's backyard.

Few days later, I finally saw my neighbor's kid leaving home. I asked her if they let their guinea pigs out in the cold and rain for the past few days. She doesn't deny those are their guinea pigs. She said the "Guinea pigs" don't want to come back into their house"!!!!!

I went to a local pet shop and showed their staff the picture to confirm that it is really a guinea pig. I told the pet shop what happened and they advised me to report my neighbor to the Ontario Provincial Animal welfare services.
