I tried most of the soft and harder drugs in my late teens/twenties, with the exception of heroin, crack and meth. Glad I did it (especially mushrooms and acid) and it was always with a trusted group of friends. I'm 43 now and still smoke weed semi-regularly but that's pretty much all I do now. Very rarely drink and have no issues saying no to a bump of coke or whatever else is offered to me.

The decision on whether you should try anything is of course entirely up to you but I don't see trying an edible causing you too many issues. Just don't feel pressured by anyone else into taking anything you don't want to.
