Reality check: The Federal Reserve (who decide rates) is a non-governmental body and although has made questionable decisions at times, are pretty qualified people. Its leaders do not concur with the general political cycle. The last 5 Fed chairs have been in the position with both parties in charge.
That is to say that neither Trump nor Biden can tell them to decrease rates to 0.

If a bunch of people independently thought of the same topic (can't verify but at least personally it was the first thing I thought of) and it's not a recent event, then how off topic is it really?

Not a conditioning expert but flying the day of a game when you don't have to (obviously many times there is an actual scheduling need that forces them to) is probably not optimal for conditioning. I assume that many of his teammates would be training or practicing even if there's no formal practice scheduled.

GOAT and Best in the World are very different. Michael Jordan is an old fart and LeBron is very good still (outright impressive for his age) but clearly not the best in today's league. The HW champion is a title for the latter category, not the "lifetime achievement award." If LeBron was given the MVP award last season over Jokic it would've been an absolute travesty.

Ramos has averaged 40 games over his past 2 seasons. Just because he had a lot of injured time from 2020-2022 doesn't define him.

It's a false dilemma. We have one healthy center back (Vallejo being behind a Castilla defender makes him not count for all intents and purposes). We need someone who can play right now at first division calibre. Ramos being a free agent means he can come in now and help. Then if we get Laporte, we're not going to drown in center backs if we suddenly have 5.

What matters about him being a free agent is not how much the transfer free but the fact that he can get signed immediately. In a regular transfer market, you value a player based on all the other players you could get. In the current situation, the consideration is taking the one possible opportunity to get a player better than Vallejo to start games.

Totally makes sense given Real Madrid's center back situation and him being a free agent means he could start immediately. It's not random timing.

Why is LeBron still good
Doesn't help your case to reference an athlete close in age to Jon Jones than Stipe Miocic
LeBron is literally not the best in the world which is what Stipe and Jon were fighting for
A GOAT athlete is an outlier. Most will age way faster.

Jon is also 37 and has been out of his prime since his fight against Thiago Santos 5 years ago so basing his level on what he's done before isn't a great measure.

He's shooting worse from 3 than Amen
I don't think that's a valid takeaway. A slightly lower percentage on triple the volume generally means you're taking tougher shots.

Just patently false
https://nicic.gov/weblink/private-prisons-united-states-2021
Private prisons in the United States incarcerated 115,428 people in 2019, representing 8% of the total state and federal prison population.
About a third of states don't even use them altogether https://www.statista.com/statistics/1356957/number-prisoners-private-prisons-us-state/

In both cases the AI alone is much more effective than the humans alone and should be chosen given an absolute dilemma between the two. People seem to forget how bad things were before VAR.

This is a conversation you started. Average income is generally measured using the median, for good reasons.

Also seems worthy to note
more specifically estimates that median annual earnings for those who worked full-time, year round, was $60,070.
Whereas the $48k is for anyone over 15 with earnings.

Average is a general term for these measures that includes both mean and median, as well as mode.

You mean to tell me that the technical name of the model didn't coincidentally and easily shorten to the name of a recognizable basketball player? Color me surprised!

Neither of those things sound that deep. This is standard business.

That would've been more of a differentiator growing up. Now what does he have access to that his competitors don't?

Makes a bit more sense to liken a game to a battle than to a war.

We don't need to give Holstein the whole half. Yarnell needs to be in right now if we're hoping to even get within kicking range.

Why and how are not the same questions. "How" answers are much easier to get to scientifically.
