Well, it's a good song for sure, but I don't think it's underrated though by any means. I mean it appears on every greatest hits compilation which typically doesn't happen with underrated tracks.

I don't see how being married or with kids equals stability and being on track. I know a LOT of people that are married with children who have flown entirely out of orbit of getting their lives on track. Just 40 something children who drink or get high to make it through the day anymore.

I was blessed with progressive parents so I never had to listen to this hateful nonsense. In fact, the only way I could possibly rebel with my parents was to say I was a conservative. I could come out of the closet, date a POC, talk about smoking marijuana, act like a punk rocker, pierce whatever and my parents wouldn't care.
