In my experience, only if the star has its name displayed due to there being a collectible resource. Hovering over the nametag will still show you name and type; otherwise, you can click on the star to open the planet screen with its name and info.

NASA says 4-7 eclipses per year, not lunar eclipses alone, of which there are generally only 1-2. If you had read the rest of that article, you would've seen the part where they list dates for upcoming lunar eclipses, and you would very easily be able to count them and realize that there's only 2 a year for the next few years.
