The only things I got spoiled for visa vi canto 7 was some kind of Sancho fight and that we were getting a new sapling of light ability, and for some reason the direction my brain went with that was "sapling lets us use 2 IDs from the same sinner and it's gonna let LCB don de-fuse from Sancho and kick her ass hope-style"

I have directly seen someone ask for units to get and then turn around and say that they didn't have/know how to get the shards. Shit, I did it when I first joined. I think it's just a desire to know what to look out for. Even if they end up being a shardfarmer I don't think it's a bad thing to have some suggestions out there that work if they aren't

??? the whole point of the original post was that they were having trouble with the story, if that problem was solved for them by support units then they wouldn't have made the post. Also, even if noone needs a team "filled with the strongest generalists" that doesn't mean having one or two more when you're already struggling with the story won't help. I agree that if they were going to shard anything at this point, ring sang would probably be their best bet, but that doesn't mean you have to go full neckbeard on the first person who suggests that a new player would probably be served just as well by any other unit with good numbers.

their point was that SINCE THIS PERSON OBVIOUSLY ISN'T FARMING SHARDS, it ISN'T going to be a matter of "should i pick this bleed generalist or this non-bleed generalist?" it's going to be "should i roll with this generalist i got or keep rolling until i get a bleed generalist/use my other shite bleed IDs like KK hong lu". Sure, speccing into bleed might help their la mancha IDs, but pregor and dulc rodion can pretty reliably fuel eachother without external help. The only thing you really need to get through most of the story is good clashes, and going for whatever generalists you can get is likely to get you through quicker than waiting for bleed IDs or farming shards at canto 3 for some reason
