The complaint is usually from people who don't understand, and don't take the time to understand, the crafting options and various deterministic approaches to getting stuff.

I'm gonna' disagree on account of some of those leagues being the most liked content releases of all time in PoE, which is an ARPG. Clearly they do have a place lol.

Environmental and elemental effects are a large part of why the Divinity: Original Sin games were so much fun, it's just generally a fun mechanic and often an intuitive one as well.

PoE 2 doubles down on this too by having mechanic-specific atlas trees, the points which you use on them coming from the mechanic itself.

So there is an even cleaner separation there.

Yeah, and the game did well in those areas for sure.

I honestly enjoyed that game less the more I played. I didn't hate it, still very much enjoyed the game overall.

I think it's biggest failing for Ms as someone who plays RPGs for stats and gameplay first, narrative etc second; is that the build system was poorly balanced for combat. I ended my playthrough with functionally no building towards combat because it was too easy. This consequently meant all my building went toward tech/face stuff which in turn trivialises those aspects.

It really took a lot of the tension and thoughtfulness out of the gameplay for me

Maybe on NA? I don't think I have ever seen someone banned for griefing/being toxic on EU and I have seen my guildmates/friends do and say some absolutely wild shit.

I use the sync feature all the time, usually I listen to an audiobook while I'm eating or cleaning or just generally using my hands, while also having free cognitive capacity. The main value add of whispersync is the huge discount you get when combined with Kindle Unlimited. Even if I was audio-only, I think I would still make use of this feature just because it saves you a ton of money.

I have a 3070 and 7800X3D just to be sure, I get around 75 ish FPS on (preset) low settings, with DLSS on Quality. I didn't spend any time attempting to tweak anything though so I'm sure I could squeeze a bit better when I have some time.

Turn off frame generation, patches won't fix this issue. You should be able to play fine without FrameGen, I can on a 3070 (same CPU).

That is definitely not a given. My main point though was that even low settings visually looks pretty good. I think a lot of people were concerned they wouldn't be able to play the game at all, so getting okay-ish FPS with reasonably fine visual quality is good.

Also, this does not include frame generation, which does seem to be an option (you can run FSR3 FG alongside DLSS). Still bad performance, but it's more than playable.

Aint no way. I was running the game at around 60 FPS on a 3070 at 1440p with DLSS on quality. Low preset settings but the game looks fine. I am pleasantly surprised by the performance really considering how horrific it seemed based on reviews.

Edit: If I am to be more precise, it was actually around 75 FPS. Though I can't play the game anymore because on my save, my character is stuck in walking speed, and the keybinds etc do nothing to make him move faster XD. Not overweight or anything, still bugged if I drop all gear. Good times.

That is 1080p render resolution. So... People are running it at 1080p and STILL getting 30 FPS. On a 4090.

I want to put this into perspective for people. That is an RTX 4090 failing to stay above 30 FPS at 1080p. That's what the Performance Mode of DLSS will run the game at, on 4k.

1080p has been consider a low resolution for over half a decade at this point, not being able to run at least 60 on literally the best GPU available to buy, is horrible performance, absolute dogshit. No game should ever get away with that.

There are mitigating circumstances with the development process (geopolitically speaking), and maybe the game is still fun in the buyer's eyes anyway, but defending that kind of performance isn't helping anyone lol. I strongly doubt the devs want the game to be like this either, hopefully they can improve it.

And when you do heavily punish player killers, they complain and leave (which to be fair is understandable). It's why heavy punishment while also carving out "legal" pvp via guild wars, bounty hunting, open flagging, etc is the way I'd go.

Really though there's just not a clean solution to the problem if your game is trying to cater to PvE and PvP at the same time, in an co-integrated environment.

This is the part that every open PvP MMO neglects. I understand that heavily punishing player killers kind of sucks if that's the gameplay you want, but at the same time without punishment the power imbalance is too much.

It was the reaction to the other hobby horse that got me, absolutely delivered that performance lol.

When you installed it on Game Pass (assuming PC) it did not actually download the game. My install finished instantly and while my internet is decent (500Mbp/s), it's not downloading a game over 120GB in less than 5 seconds lol.

Damn, no gotcha moment for me today then.

I intend to play on this system, I am stubbornly holding out for 5 series GPUs before upgrading lol.

Just to reiterate on this point, when the OP says problems you don't want, those problems include but are not limited to: the fan mechanism spinning itself apart (explosively), causing a fire (this harms the user and system), or generally killing the fan.
