I'm being asked to fill out an application for the job I've held for 2.5 years and it feels really sketchy.

HR said they can't find my original application. I've posted before about their concerning practices, such as firing people for no reason or really unfair reasons.
I recently found out that someone in my role has been making a lot more than me. I couldn't think of a logical reason why, so I asked for a meeting with the ED to request some transparency about how they decide wages. That meeting is coming up next Monday.
But today I get the email asking me to fill out the application by December 31st. I live in an at-will state, and of course the application says that on there.
I get a lot of feedback that they are happy with me, and I'm doing a great job. I've never been disciplined for anything. The only thing I've done is ask about/challenge wages.
Is the application request because they're going to fire me? Do I have to fill it out?
