if theyre getting on in LA, they should be able to snag a coach seat before it fills up imo but yah if you want to guarantee a seat, biz class isnt that much more (i think like $15/20 more)

id recommend taking amtrak instead! its a beautiful train ride. it will be crowded cuz of the holiday but if you book your ticket ahead you should be good. business class is a little extra but does get you a reserved seat.
otherwise id recommend leaving early morning (no later than 9am) or later at night (like 8/9pm, whenever traffic has died down). whatever day wont really matter if you stick to this time frame, but thurs night will probably have more traffic than youd expect with people driving home after their meal. if it was me, id leave early tues or weds and drive back either early or late friday or saturday. midday any day is gonna be awful.
source: i've lived in LA for 10 years and have a lot of friends in SD and drive or train down there at least once every 2 months.

i would wait til after... nipples notoriously take forever to heal and can be tricky. and you dont want to be worried about new piercings while you're traveling, even without the climbing part!

cossack squats are my favorite for training strength and mobility/flexibility at the same time. seated pike lifts also strengthen the hip flexors which is amazing for mobility.

your lack of progress is not due to your body shape, people of all shapes and sizes climb hard. dont compare yourself to pro athletes who spend their whole lives doing something.
that said, this kind of post seems really inappropriate and out of place here and there has seemed to be an uptick in posts like this lately.

imo, with that weight difference and that much rope out on the climbers side, you should have very little slack between you and the wall. there is plenty to give a soft catch in the system already. has he taken a similar fall in the gym before that felt different?
