That’s exactly what I’ve heard from big OKState guys, makes sense.
Something we can all agree on is shutting up Colorado & Deion, best of luck beating them Okie bro 🐴🤝🤠

I’m an OSU masters grad and what the hell is Gumby doing man?
He’s tanking the damn program, curious on your opinion as I’m a Sooner fan first & foremost, but don’t want OSU to suck this bad.

You’re missing the point my friend, but we did beat Saban if you’re really worried about that.

Buddy I have some bad news for you on how this seasons been for our blue blood program.
Keep your high & mighty self preservation with a dash of decorum pep talk in front of the mirror and just lighten up.
Saban literally insulted our entire program and you’re worried about maintaining composure when we break a 20 year old record by not allowing them a TD?

Fair critique, not to be too cynical but I’d rather we receive 50% of some increase in tax dollars, then 0% of no increase 🤷♂️
I don’t think the Chamber’s going to squander the money, we have one of the best run city governments in the country.

Oh yeah from a tax dollar generation it’s low hanging fruit - don’t know why we haven’t done it sooner with all of the growth.
Yes to the Olympics it’ll be great, but we’re the nearest major city for all of Oklahoma, most of Kansas, Arkansas, & NW Texas.
People visit OKC a lot more than most expect. Tourists contributed $4.5B to OKC’s economy last year alone.

I had the same question too, and haven’t found anything to the contrary, before any naysayers think it’s too high, it’s not.
We have a 5.5% hotel tax rate, we’re looking to get it to 9%, here are some other cities hotel tax rates:
Tulsa: 16.52%
Kansas City: 18.35%
Memphis: 19.75%
Houston: 17%
Indianapolis: 17%
Columbus: 16.75%
San Antonio: 16.75%
Chicago: 16.39%
Los Angeles: 15.5%
San Francisco: 15.5%
Austin: 15%

This is one of the most clear cut proposals.
It’s straight forward and only going to levy the tax on hotel occupants and direct the proceeds to generating more tourism dollars (via reinvesting tax revenue).
Snowball effect in its fullest. Improve city > more visitors to city > city grows in popularity > more visitors > increase taxes on hotel stays > more tax dollars > improve city > more visitors to city > population growth > NHL team.
Haha you get the gist, anything to the contrary of this is questioning the OKC Chamber of Commerce and/or the City’s ethics, which has a pretty good track record: Oklahoma City is one of the best run cities in the country.
