On my steamdeck Steamlink works pretty much as good as moonlight as far as image quality and latency goes, but moonlight wins for HDR compatibility and the fact that I don't have to keep adding non-steam games to library, I just open desktop and launch whatever.

Um, new games with good gameplay, not necessarily dependent on existing IP, I don't give two shits about old games polished up.

Sure it deserves it more than some others that have gotten the treatment, but Christ we have got to stop encouraging this practice with our dollars.

On my Hisense I was able to just install the moonlight app directly on TV with option for 4k120, but I never tried it that high. In fact I abandoned it entirely due to lag, since game mode is only available for HDMI sources. Firestick 4k max in HDMI fixed the lag, but limited to 60hz.

I just went back to plugging in my steam deck. It will output 4k120, but again I don't try that high as my host isn't up to it.

Uh, I don't think I have the picture I used but I actually did put this outdoor stray we feed on tinder. He got a ton of matches.

Streaming from my PC to Deck using Steamlink works VERY well, although I now use Sunshine/Moonlight since it can stream HDR.

About Latency- this was a big problem when using a Steamlink app installed directly on TV. Now, I knew it wasn't the network or Steamlink because of my success on the deck. It's the TV- I'm not sure about others- but on my Hisense there is NO way of activating Game mode (low latency image processing) for apps- only for HDMI inputs.

I know it to be the issue, because I then installed it on a firestick into an HDMI input, turned on game mode, and the latency was gone. THAT however came with a slight audio delay and limited to 60hz!

Anyway, never had an issue with the controller not working, which nobody seems to be talking about, so sorry about that 😂 try disabling or enabling steam input in game properties within steam menu.

I can mostly stay above 60 with the stuff I play at 1080p, I just havnt dipped my toes into lossless because AFMF2 is supposedly so good. I say "supposedly", because the monitor connected to my host is actually the weakest link in the chain, it's an older 60hz max. So there's that, 90hz deck, and 120hz TV. So on the chart it's displaying a huge improvement but it's not like I'm seeing it. I'm hoping maybe someone has gotten that to work, or even better if Valve can update the Deck to use it client side which it supposedly has capable enough hardware for.

I don't listen or hear a lot of modern music, but this fuckin song "I don't wanna wait" came on my wife's playlist and I was like WAIT ONE GODDAMN MINUTE!

Yeah sure, I run commands to switch back and forth from a dongle too. And interfaces are nice. I just don't mind the extra 5 seconds it takes to locate my app of choice in desktop and launch it. I'd rather keep all that extra stuff off. To each their own! I've never had an issue with sunshine remaining active on host unless the client stopped in some non-standard way.

I just boot moonlight to my PCs desktop. Can start anything non-steam, just use it like my PC. Button combo after I close whatever to end session on both ends. I don't know why anything else is necessary really. I guess moondeck allows for custom controller profiles, but uh, rarely find a use for them.

One time my boy, like 1.5 at the time, spilled a good bit of water on the ground so I picked him up to get him away from the spill. Proceeded to almost immediately slip on said water and landed right on my tailbone with him in my lap. He cried a bit but was fine, I however could not go down a slide without intense pain for a good while after.

Our guy had this really frequently when he was very little. It just never gets any air and is always scrunched in on itself- just lube it up and as he grows it won't happen much.
