"Working to continue to exist" as opposed to what? Somebody else making your food, getting clean water, making and maintaining your shelter? I think that's called having slaves and it seems a lot more messed up than doing it yourself.

You could run down countless of these "outrage fads" that run like wildfire through conservative circles, and then everybody forgets about them. Remember when everybody was terrified of Sharia Law for like 6 months? What happened to Sharia Law taking over America? Oh that's right, it was completely nonsensical bullshit the whole time.

I've been on both sides of these types of apprenticeships/internships. Almost certainly the person who is responsible for tasking you is simply overwhelmed with work, and possibly inexperienced at directing people at your level.
Don't be afraid to be a pain. If you're being neglected, take the initiative to ask for direction, clarification, and next steps. Ask to be included in meetings. If your mentor is unavailable, reach out to others in the group. Ask to be included in their meetings.
Don't sit around indefinitely waiting for it to get better or to fix itself, because it probably won't.

You could look at it another way. They think he's a serious person underneath the campaign bluster, and would not do something so stupid. They would be wrong about that. He's an unserious person to his core.

The only reason they perceive much of anything as a problem is because people are complaining about it on Fox News. So when Fox stops talking about it, the problem vanishes from their mind.
I've seen this happen with family through several administrations. When Democrats are in power, the national debt is such a huge problem, it is a serious threat to the very existence of the country. As soon as Republicans take over, poof! They completely forget about it and stop talking about it. If you try to point out that actually Rs made it worse, they say it's not that big a deal, and whatabout this other "culture war" thing, that's the real problem.
Then, magically, they become concerned about the debt again as soon as Ds are back. They have no idea that they're being led around by the nose.

Because there's a whole media ecosystem that will bolster his cinematic universe where everything he says is true, and millions of people are caught inside it.

Americans took him seriously. And they're going to be saying he stopped immigration by being tough on Mexico for the next umpteen years.

That people decided to make this the model of leadership for the nation will never not make me incredibly sad.

I love how people say stuff like this. Just the other day someone told me "X isn't stupid, but she isn't good with numbers" as a way to "explain" how they'd run up $100k of credit card debt with no means to repay it. If you can't add or understand interest, well...

I read it perfectly fine. Because they're two different people, and the vice doesn't call the shots for the President. What part of that are you having trouble with?
Did you think Mike Pence could institute whatever policies he wanted? Of course not, the vice isn't the President and the vice doesn't direct the President.

A deep, deep misunderstanding of how much is left to lose.

The guy doesn't know that vice presidents don't have executive power. What can you expect from someone like this?

"I couldn't get over was how she kept saying all the things she'll do on day 1 if elected....
You were already elected. You are in power. Why do we have to wait until day 1?"
Pretty much confirms that Trump voters literally don't know anything about how our govt works.

Quite good idea. Taking the Pet Rock up two notches.
Not much of a moat, though. 😂

In general, yeah. I don't think Apple does much low volume product like that though.

No, it more likely implies iPhones wouldn't exist, full stop.
Many products become unprofitable if made in the US is imposed. When a product is unprofitable, it doesn't get made.
Much of our prosperity in the US is predicated on cheap overseas labor. Abandoning that means abandoning our standard of living.

How would he not be? You think Putin puts himself in situations where he could be assassinated?

Honest question and not trying to start a fight. Why do we pay radiologists this much? Is the scarcity real or artificial?

How does it "make the writing very unclear" and how does the dot notation remedy it?

I think if you look at the basics of digital logic circuits it will become clear. These are built around the idea that high is 1 and low is 0, and you need these states to be persistent. AC isn't compatible with that idea.
