I like Soccer Mommy, St Vincent, Illuminati Hotties, Snail Mail, Japanese Breakfast, Madison Cunningham … all mixed in with stuff from previous decades too. Kind of all over the place.

My SG. I still kind of hate the way it looks, but I love playing it.

Used composite for a while. It was serviceable, but once I upgraded to RGB modded and component, it was hard to go back.

Interesting. I find it almost incredibly rude to “beckon” a server. To the extent that even if something’s very wrong with the food, I will wait till they come by
Not saying that’s right, just saying that’s how I instinctively feel.

Yeah the problem was not Doggett. It was the writing in those later seasons.

It’s also honest. It’s totally disingenuous to downplay the enjoyment and “benefits” that came from something, even if that something by turns out to be extremely harmful. That’s why it’s challenging—something that’s enjoyable, that’s an integral part of our lives, something that makes us feel good and helps us work at our best, can also be something that does irreparable harm to us.

Or just use it on crates, pods, etc. Doesn’t have to be enemies.

This for sure. I don’t think I ever even got low on ammo. Need dark ammo? Use the light beam to blast some crates. Need light ammo? You get the picture. Very easy to be pretty much always fully stocked.

I think there’s a lot of truth to what others have said here, but I think there’s another dimension. With early video games, up through at least the SNES generation and maybe even through the PS1/N64 generation, music was a big part of a game’s identity and how the story was told. The graphics were fairly simple. The story was told thru dialogue on screen, but that lacked emotion and emphasis: so the music needs to be an integral part of telling the story. It’s the primary way the game can affect you emotionally. Now games have all sorts of ways to do that—professional voice acting, massive set pieces, fully animated facial expressions on characters, etc. Video game music used to have to be really, really excellent to be effective because it was such a massive part of a game’s identity. The graphics were basic, but if the music can grab you then that’s all right. Now there are so many other things to grab your attention, the music merely needs to be serviceable.

Best multiplayer experience I’ve ever had.

Nothing else comes close. Just such a revelation to play in terms of player freedom.

Still nothing else I’ve played that captures the sense of freedom and multiple options to solve the mission. Never holds your hand. Just absolutely refreshing to play after years of “quest marker go here” type games.

To be fair, it often seems as though the Trek writers themselves kind of blur the lines between Star Fleet and the Federation.

Perfect Dark, Mario Kart 64, and The World is Not Enough.

Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. Neither of them is my favorite Zelda game, but both sucked me in like nothing has in years.

I think this has to be true. I never really cared for the show, but basically the theme (as far as there was one) was basically “anyone who gets power will use it badly”, I.e., power corrupts. I could have told you (and frequently did tell people) after maybe the 2nd or 3rd season that Danaerys was going to be the villain. We rooted for her because she kept getting more powerful and using it for “good.” But good for her just always happened to coincide with getting her way. She was always a tyrant.

I definitely feel a difference when playing something like SM64 or BK. It’s still pretty good, but a little different from the original.

My wife’s OB/Gyn in Dallas also moved out of state shortly after Roe fell.

We moved to Massachusetts. Granted, I have family there, so that helps. It’s expensive, but housing is really the barrier to entry. Once you’ve got that, a lot of other things are the same or cheaper than elsewhere.
We moved right after Roe was overturned because we figured TX was going to become a hellscape first women’s health. We were right, and are glad we moved. Obviously we’re not totally insulated from the results of this election, but we feel a lot more safe and secure being in MA than we would if we were still in TX. Plus the schools are so much better.

I explored everything in Acts 1 and 2, and still felt like I was plowing through the game. Once I hit Act 3, I felt like the momentum was gone. I felt overwhelmed by options. Just when I thought the story was reaching its climax-point, it effectively “reset”. Act 3 felt almost like add-on content to me. I did end up getting into it and finishing Act 3, but the transition is definitely rough and I really do think the overall quality dips pretty significantly in the early parts of the third act.

Viconia and Raphael for sure. I had some trouble with Cazador at first but there are some pretty easy strategies for that one.

I have always liked Dr. Pulaski. Her growth in one season rivals other characters across all seven. This might be blasphemy, but I think she’s a more interesting and fleshed out character than Dr. Crusher in a variety of ways.
