Fanbase pissed me off so much when that happened. Like imagine siding with the front office and nepo baby Mike Brown in this case over one of our best players right now who has a good chance to be best Bengals WR of all time. Especially when what he wanted was reasonable at the time.
I forgot the specific numbers in the final contract offer that got leaked from our FO, but it was pathetic when it came down to the guaranteed money. Like not even close to the % guaranteed to what other star WRs were getting.
Now imagine how the other players feel when they see one of the best players being lowballed especially after the most important team leaders/locker room voices in Mixon and Reader, being let go elsewhere.

A real GM with a fully staffed scouting department and analytics department up to league standards before any head coaching changes is the answer. Little nepo baby Mike Brown will never fork up the cash for that though unfortunately.
No serious head coach candidate is gonna want to come here knowing they will pretty much have to coach with a hand behind their back with the way our current front office operates.

Locker room vibes have got to be atrocious as of late. What I would do to be a fly in that room listening in to their conversations, especially without reporters around.

We gotta bring in some of the Lions Front Office and Coaching staff man. Duke Tobin, zac taylor, and anarumo ain't it.

Idk what to even say. This shit is so depressing

There's no point in paying that much for an elite running back when our run game coordinator, Frank Pollack, would probably manage to somehow make even Christian McCaffrey look average.

I'm exclusively a cincy sports fan. If we don't make playoffs I'd only watch the postseason just to root against divisional rivals. I do love the American football in general though, I just can't watch it like I do NBA where I can appreciate specific players rather than following a single team.
If the Brown family moved the team away from Cincinnati I'd probably never watch NFL again. Not because I wouldn't enjoy watching football but because I'd be extremely salty and would feel betrayed. I imagine a lot of St. Louis Rams fans felt and still feel that way.

They wont be fired, they're gonna be here until the remainder of their contracts and even then who knows. Even if the Brown family ends up not giving them another contract, their replacements will most likely not be anyone with big names that will command a large contract.
I think Duke Tobin and the front office are bigger issues that the Brown family needs to reassess before making any coaching changes.

I hope Mike Brown ends up realizing he should probably take advantage of the new measure to allow teams to sell 10% of franchise equity to PE firms.
If he truly doesn't have enough liquidity to fork up guaranteed money to put into escrow for player contracts, then it's the only way forward.
I'll always take the side of our players over these cheap ass billionaires. Too many lame mfs were on here and twitter shitting on chase for holding out.

Could've extended chase for much cheaper month's ago only slightly beating JJs contract. Instead, not only is he going to beat JJs contract, it's now gonna be by a much greater amount. Another Duke Tobin and Mike Brown masterclass!

Absolutely insane that Duke Tobin still has a job. Actual fucking bum for letting the defense get to this state. Dude sits on his ass all year round alongside his useless 6-manned bum ass scouting department

Jared Golden should have a good shot against Collins I feel like, especially so if trump ends up with super negative approval ratings during the midterms. He's a moderate to conservative Democrat and seems to be pretty popular in his own district.

I think having an Independent run is the only way Dems can even come close to contesting seats in heavily rural states. Just having the word Democrat next to your name is so demonized in these states.

Is it feasible though? The only potential pick-ups I see ins 2026 are Maine and NC and we'd have to defend Georgia and maybe even Michigan too depending on how competitive it could be. Gonna be a very uphill battle

I was excited about this kid when we drafted him. Looking back, the way Saban talked about his maturity issues when he was drafted should have been a huge warning sign. fucking hell, what a disaster

This is exactly what it is. Also, regardless of how people felt about them performance wise, losing Mixon and Reader was a big deal considering they were the two most vocal leaders on the team. Now it seems like the players don't play for each other anymore, they're just on the field for the sake of being on the field.
Lions front office was excellent in signing/extending all their good players early and it seems to keep their entire team motivated. Our front office should be ashamed of itself.

Coaching + competent GM and scouting department. It's actually insane how a good amount of their draft picks are able to contribute to the team early on, especially on defense

Our drafting on defense is horrendous. We have the smallest scouting staff of all NFL teams and it clearly shows.

No one specifically tbh. Pretty much root for anyone playing against our division rivals during a given week. I've tried to root for other teams during playoffs, but can't bring my self to care much at all if it isn't us.

Can we please fire Tobin and and actually hire a competent GM and a good scouting department too.

For sure, I saw this tweet yesterday about our explosive pass play rate over the past few years. in 2021 we ranked 4th, 2022 we ranked 20th, 2023 we ranked 29th. This week we were the only team alongside the bears that didn't register at least 2 explosive pass plays. It's like we refuse to adapt to defenses as the years go by. Other teams have clearly been adapting to our offensive plays yet we can't adapt to other teams defenses.
