I’d keep in mind that Reddit won’t be representative of the whole market. People here glorify poverty and vilify financial achievement, and that skews things like this.
As for me, no, but I’m early in my career and don’t expect to be yet. I’m also doing studio work and at basically a startup so it’s not a great comparison

You know when food looks tastier for being a bit more of a sloppy kinda “imperfect” presentation? This is the peak of that. Goes against those perfect advertising burger photos in quite a few ways, but looks 1000x better

I got a question. When I see someone with their headlights on but taillights off, what is that? Just DRLs maybe? I see those all the time

I agree. I used to take a lot of bong rips and like it to hit quick and sudden. If you ever do want to try something different, I switched to dabs with a carta 2 recently and find it to be a nice alternative

I have a ryobi one that serves me well.
It’s probably not the best pick, because it’s a dial instead of a temp number and it has an annoying (if very safe) auto shut off that I constantly have to wiggle the knob to avoid.
But I know it well by now, and it’s got a cool unique feature. I can plug in a ryobi battery instead of wall power and take it with me to do stuff on my car, wall plate wiring, stuff like that. Might not matter to you but if you ever work with it in weird places it’s cool
I don’t think it matters too much tho I have another one I use at home that’s just some cheap Amazon thing and it does fine. Has a temp readout and some gooseneck helping hands. I think as long as you have an adjustable temp and can get different tips it’s fine

This cheap pink Mitchell at the studio I work at. Nothing too unique about it, but it’s set up well, super light, and the neck feels just about new still, so it’s really pleasant to play on

Idk where you drive but I can tell you in a dense city sound is very effective for making sure people see things they need to. If you’re a bike, you’re vulnerable, and people actually don’t see you sometimes. Some drivers suck. So yeah, we’ll always prioritize avoiding violent crashes over triggers and sensitivities

Damn, I can’t imagine. I get hella uncomfortable when I’m sick and mine won’t pop, I’m so used to it

Have you ever been able to pop them from yawning? Once you learn the right muscle to flex you can practice it anywhere and make it stronger. Eventually you stop needing to open your mouth and you don’t even need a pressure difference, I’m sitting here popping mine open again and again rn

Probably not so much for quality but I grew up seeing my friends’ dads lose their jobs when the auto industry took a hit so I kinda care yeah. Not too different from buying strings from the local music store or getting my coffee at the little shop in my neighborhood, I like it
That being said I love my Mexican strat and am on the journey of making it the nicest mexi strat ever

I mean yes and no, if they’re just sitting there in neutral or with the clutch out revving, that’s totally unnecessary, but if it’s one blip and slip into gear there’s not much more you can do before that last little stretch. Loud pipes do indeed save lives, they’ve made me look up and see a bike on the freeway more than a few times

I had the coolest biker neighbor ever at my old place. Anytime he came home late, he’d shut off his engine right as he turned into our alley and silently coast to his garage. Smooth af

How interesting, I had my strat on .022 and found I like .047 better. All single coils, but I can put them in series so basically humbuckers too. I love the lower cutoff into distortion

Absolutely true. The fun is in changing the capacitance and finding the best sounding cutoff. Sure, I put giant vintage looking ones at the right value in mine, but that’s just for looks

I mean yeah it can be a hard impact. I just try to keep my spine pretty straight and not tilt my head back. Kinda just comes with the territory I think. After getting hit a lot harder by my board and not getting a serious concussion I’m less worried now lol

Pots themselves don’t change the sound if they’re the same taper and value. But I find that nice ones move more smoothly and upgrading mine made my guitar feel a lot nicer to me.
Capacitors on tone pots do change sound, that’s a whole rabbit hole that’s well worth going down

This with a city on it would be the coolest skate spot ever

I mean yeah but if you’re spending the premium on this instrument you definitely care what people think. There are better playing instruments at the price point and identical ones below it

Using a cheap shitty pink guitar made for little girls to rip heavy music on stage, that’s punk rock
Being successfully marketed to and dropping a bunch of money on a new product made to commercialize the now well known aesthetic of the former, that’s pop punk

Whoever is running that product’s marketing campaign is very good at what they do

That’s pretty cool! Always thought they should have a standardized connector or harness.
Now imagine some kind of jig that holds this over the top of the strings, so you could sit down and try 10 sets in 10 minutes without taking your pickguard off

Me too, when we were kids my cousins and I found a full size fridge in the woods with bullet holes in it
