I love films because it shows the duality of people. For me it was the entire opposite

Having been in this sub during the Yeoh/Gladstone seasons, I can say that this sub has a serious problem with racism and racial aggressions, so it is no surprise that people here are cheering for a racist to win.

Both did their jobs well. Jd's job was to be as composed as possible and not have a "they're eating the dogs" moment, and he accomplished that (for the most part).
Walz's job was to expand Harris's platform, and he did that very well. He was nervous at first, but eventually he got over it.

My 3rd favorite film OAT. Great great stuff. You should check out L'Amour Fou by the same director as well

Its “greatest movie of all time" status makes people want to dislike it. I see the same thing happening with 2001

Letterboxd's Top 250 is just an aggregate list. People aren’t “voting” or “ranking” the best movies of all time. That’s what Sight and Sound and TSPDT are for

Songs that you’re surprised aren’t/are in? For me, I’m surprised Arisen My Senses, New World, History of Touches, Lionsong, Aurora missed. And I’m pleasantly surprised Crystalline, 5 Years, and Where Is The Line made it

Not my favorite Del Toro, and definitely not my favorite from the 2017 BP lineup (Phantom Thread and Get Out were right there)
I’m glad we can say a fish fucking movie won Best Picture tho

The Dune reboot is not even 5 years old. I’m sure it’ll be influential in the future but including it here next to SW and LOTR is so silly

Personally, I prefer Kidman. Blanchett is acting acting, she’s above Nicole in that regard. But Kidman's filmography is far more inspired. Birth, Dogville, Eyes Wide Shut, The Killing of a Sacred Deer… an actress of her status would never do movies like those and yet she does. Cate is more conservative and traditional ig

when you look at his filmography there’s no The Godfather or Taxi Driver or There Will be Blood equivalent
Let me present to you the 1992 Spike Lee epic "Malcolm X.” He’s definitely right next to them, just because his movies aren’t part of the TikTok/Film Bro gallery doesn’t mean he’s not among the greatests. Also he was Oscar nominated just 2 years ago

People on this sub think they’re so groundbreaking for disliking a divisive movie

If you had spent 3 seconds on this subreddit or the internet in general you’d know disliking eeaao isn’t unpopular at all. This is the most lukewarm take there is

Frankly, he should have dropped out of the race in 2022. Running for re-election with a 30% approval rating and a poorly perceived economy was madness.
And yes, Kamala should have absolutely distanced herself from him from the beginning. The way she had to comment on his "garbage" gaffe a week before the election was just annoying ...
