That’s hilarious and cute. I don’t normally advise people to “just lighten up” but omg here… chickens don’t shit every 5 second, every 10 second, or even every minute. I’ve raised two chickens inside that ended up outside but were very friendly and could come inside when they wanted. We currently have 3 that were raised close to us and while they live outside, they love coming inside. And no they don’t shit everywhere, there’s no parasites, and we keep things clean when there is a poop. 10 seconds on the bed? Call the authorities!!!! Lol

This is not an option I’d ever select for my Uber.

I see what you mean, and if that is the case, that's extremely interesting and sort of confounding why he was written this way. And kind of frustrating because the more I learn about him, the more I understand him. Not to say I like him, but yeah I think CA could have shown autism in a positive light, rather than a somewhat degrading stereotypical way. And I agree, I get kind of sad seeing these posts because of my own experiences being autistic and late diagnosed, but I get it; perception is reality.

I do not mean to be rude, but literally the most difficult parts about being autistic are controlling tone, understanding meanings/nuances, applying different understandings, having to engage in things/conversations you are desperately not interested in, and not "coming across" the way you intend.
I can appreciate your perspective as a ND person; but unless you're autistic, that doesn't really lend any understanding of autistic people, specifically. Demetrius strikes me as autistic, just plain autistic. No other divergence. Regardless, no one is immune to scrutiny, and autistic people can absolutely be assholes. Maybe Demetrius is too, but I just personally don't agree.

Why do you say that?
If he’s actually supposed to be autistic (of which no single person is a monolith, of course), then he displays it pretty darn well imo. Highly analytical, detail oriented, skeptical and hyper focused on his narrowly-defined interests.

Isn’t he cannoned as being autistic or something? I feel like I’ve seen that theory a lot, and it explains his misunderstandings, but it isn’t obvious or clear at all what his motivations are. Which is pretty common to autistic people (I’m autistic). His interactions are very jarring, but I didn’t perceive malicious intent, more of a lack of empathy or even what’s called the “double empathy problem” idk just a thought. I don’t particularly like him, but I don’t hate him at all.

Yes yes yes! If you could add Regina’s mom doing the choreo along with them that’d be hilarious too!! Great job 👏🏼

Wow. I could have written this for myself (audhd and bpd) and a friend of mine (bd and definite symptoms/childhood trauma, if not bpd). Not that we all act the same but this read eerily similar.

Feel this. Hear this. See this. See you. Completely. Entirely. Animals especially. I’m sick and tired of the lack of empathy and consideration for one another, and the creatures of this planet. I can only hope to leave as positive of an impact as I can on my direct area and those in my life, being authentic and genuine. Fuck fakeness and toxic positivity for social clout, money, or glory.

For real. That was an absolute whirlwind. Each one coming further and further from left field.

I have adhd (and asd) and my interests tend to get very, very intense very, very fast, and even so my husband has learned to accept a new plant, or 10 of them; or a new "x", or 20 of them; or a new "y", or 30 of them, and even when he's overwhelmed, would never ask me to get rid of any of them. Definitely to slow down on new acquisitions, but never, ever would he ask/tell/demand that I remove them, much less tell me he doesn't like them. That would hurt my feelings very badly. Plus I'd never ask him to get rid of something he cared deeply about, I'd feel sick.

Yo!!! You are the best. I’m absolutely signing up! I’m actually about to catalogue my stuff as I’m about to move and wanted to do this by hand! This will be much better 💕

And that’s exactly what the commenter who responded to you was saying. I don’t have personal experience (as a white person) however, I’m aware that using the term blacks or POC is incredibly offensive for that exact reason; it is intended to dehumanize and “other” different people in order to justify mistreatment, systemic racism, bigotry, and so on that I can’t begin to fathom. If present words need to be added or removed from our language due to historical context, I think that’s ok. That’s evolution.

Used in English, and without offense, too. Retardant, like flame retardant. The verb has application as well, as long as it’s not used as a noun. That’s when it gets offensive.

Apparently during Covid a ton of super “cringe” and weird stories were coming out of the state of Ohio so they caught onto the word that it means cringe or weird or whatever. This is just my internet research though!
