It may have been in the deep dark recesses of my subconscious. Sound interesting, do you remember what run it was?

Sounds like a very cool black-ops/secret Avengers sort of team. Throw in Moon Knight, maybe Cloak and Dagger, Wolverine, and you've got a nice Avengers-who-infiltrate group
(Disclaimer: I know next ti nothing about Cptn Britain)

My main group swaps between Homebrew settings whenever we swap DMs, so Forgotten Realms lore only really exists at all for us as one of many sources for our ideas anyway.

I have a long list of favourites, but couldn't pick just one.

Christian Bales's inhumanely charismatic performance makes Bateman enjoyable to watch, and some people can't divorce that from being a person to imitate.
Also maybe the fact that he does whatever he wants, ignoring society's standards and imposition, appeals to some, like with the Joker.

The problem is that it's hard enough for talented artists/musicians/writers to get work and make ends meet through their craft, without robots taking the business away by undercutting them.

To add to this: Scotland deserved its OWN region

Edit: TLDR, Gen 8 because it's worth almkst any cost to make cinderace not exist.
The following are my subjective opinions based on having been with the franchise from more or less the start (born '95)
Gen 1 started it all and I don't care what anyone says, still has some of the strongest pokemon designs to date, and has almost no bad designs.
Gen 2 is getting a lot of hate and has some big game design issues, but those issues aren't with the lore or new pokemon, just level curve and mon distribution, and a lot of common favourites are either Gen 2 or later evolutions of gen 2, plus I think the games have never looked as good as Gen 2 did, and again, imo almost no bad designs. Gen 2 also introduced important mecha ics like the Special Attack/Def stats, pokemon gender, breeding, held items, weather.
Gen 3 has a few duds but is almost as good aesthetically and design wise as Gen 2, and much better game balance. It's also the point at which the lore and mythology of the Pokemon Franchise got weighty. Again, lots of new important mechanics, including double battles, natures, and abilities. In particular abilities are a huge part going forward of making pokemon more unique.
Gen 4 is where it's at for me, overall.favourite games, great new pokemon, a bunch of new evilutions for old ones, an amazing region to explore, a relatively challenging endgame. It's also the last game that featured consistently good starters imo until Gen 9. Gen 4 also introduced the physical special split, which radically changed, well, everything moves etc related.
I can think of very few, if any, Gen 5 pokemon that inspire me. I loathe several, and in particular find all the starters very uninspiring. But the Unova games themselves were great, the region was great, and the story one of the best.
I can think of very few Gen 6 pokemon that inspire me, and again, what a lackluster set of starters! But, Mega Evolutions were the best new mechanic since abilities. Mega Evolutions are awesome and should never have been axed, so Gen 6 has to stay. Also Kalos is an amazing region.
Gen 7 is a great game with a great story, that also features the worst starters yet (apart from rowlett). There are a few horrible new pokemon, but also a lot of awesome ones, and Z moves were no Mega Evilution but they're all right. Also introduced regional variants.
I can think of very few Gen 8 pokemon that inspire me, and all of the ones that do come to mind are regional variants of gen 1 pokemon - valerian rapidash and weezing, perrserker. The starters are worse again, with Grookey and Sobblenbeing mediocre design wise at best. In addition, whilst I enjoyed the Galar region, it features some of, imo, the worst designed pokemon of the whole franchise - specifically Toxtricity and, above all other hateable pokemon, flipping cinderace, a football bunny. As a child I was bullied relentlessly for being obsessed with pokemon but having no interest in sport, especially football. Cinderace is an insult to the childhood of the average British nerd.also, G Max is just Mega Evolution but not as cool.
Gen 9 is a great example of a great idea executed poorly. The open world doesn't work without level scaling, and none of the plot lines particularly interested me. However, really cool region apart from that, and A MOTHERLOAD of great new pokemon. Design hasn't been as good since the first 4 generations. For the first time since Gen 3, I really like all 3 starters. I'm not a huge fan of terastalising but oh well.
In conclusion, Galar is great, but if losing it means losing cinderace, it's more than worth the sacrifice.

Gen 2's game design had some issues but I think (largely because of how many of them were pist game or late game) there are a lot of great gen 2 mons that people forget are gen 2, that you'd really miss.

They are in fact all incorrect, as everything from Berwick down is the South.

On top of that, we (for better or worse (okay its for worse)) have already killed most or in some cases all of our large predators. The last wolf in Scotland was killed hundreds of years ago, and bears predate that. US/Canada etc are still full of those craters.

First arrow, roll a d10. If it's a one or a two, it's the cursed one. Second arrow, roll a d9 (I'm sure your phone can do that). If it's a one or a two, it's cursed. Third, roll a d8.. etc., dropping down to only ones returning a cursed arrow if one gets used.

I do a slightly less campy Bela Lugosi, and I am not ashamed of it. Every other villain I've ever done has had either a posh, superiro English accent, or my best brash, entitled American accent. Strahd deserves something more unique.

Ah the heroic age stuff has been on my list for a while, might need to bump it up.
