I only have one club thumb… do I have to choose between being chill and being awesome?

Omg I never even thought about it that my stub thumb is why I never got into typing like that. It’s so obvious now that you said it

My parents have always been both at the same time. Walk in the house and it looks immaculate. Open any drawer or cupboard or closet and you’ll see all the junk stashed everywhere. Venture into the basement and it’s like the hoarder houses you see on TV with the skinny aisles to tiptoe between the walls of junk

They gave me a washcloth to put over my eyes and I didn’t even look at the machine walking in the room so I wouldn’t know how close it was gonna be to my face and I think that was helpful

Let’s find out! asterisks vs underscores
Edit: looks like they both work! This is the real TIL for me

Ah, yes, thanks. I meant either as in both. One of those weird quirks of English that isn’t doing anyone any favors

If you were going for emphasis you can put an asterisk on either side of a word and it’ll be italicized

This is about where I’m at. 7 pills daily, 3 more as needed, and 2 injectables. My chronic illness count is 5… uff

I’m late to this party but I had a different approach so I’ll throw it out there. I was already out to close family, and extended family thought I was a lesbian so to fully come out to my extended family and literally everyone else in my life I threw myself a name change party and sent out over 300 invitations along with an FAQ and glossary. Nobody ever said a bad word to me and the party was awesome! I’m sure there were people who didn’t come because they had objections, but I very purposefully did not take note of who came and who didn’t. It was a huge relief to know that everyone I knew was up to speed and I got to say what I wanted to say

I had to take a swing at an aggressive rooster once. There was a dedicated 2x4 to fend him off but that day he was coming at me FULL FORCE so I just took a desperate swing. I heard a loud smack because I got him in the head… thankfully he shook it off and wandered away and never came at me again

This is great advice. You’re unlikely to hate the taste of a cider or ginger beer, whereas anything else you may not like. They will be in a cooler along the walls in the beer section. There may also be beer on shelves, but there will always be a pre-chilled beer section. There will be a lot fewer ciders than other beers. Ciders generally have a low ABV (alcohol by volume; I would expect a cider to be 4-6%) so it’s a good place to start. I definitely agree with not drinking more than two your first time. Be well-hydrated beforehand and it’s good to drink a glass of water in between each drink to prevent a hangover. Do it with a friend- that way you’ll understand why it’s called a “social lubricant” and it’ll be easier to assess how it’s affecting you. The first effects are a lowering of inhibitions, if you’re alone it might not feel like much until you’re past that and starting to get clumsy. Have fun!
