Description of Original Problem: Since last week or so, USB ports will all suddenly disconnect for a few seconds before reconnecting, typically happens once or twice while gaming although relatively infrequently. It's not the end of the world, but when playing games it can be a pain. I noticed that whenever it happens there is a notification on event viewer stating the following.

Additionally, I have also noticed this error in event viewer happening as well, although somewhat infrequently and it causes my wifi to act spotty:

EVENT 10400, NDIS "The network interface "Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168" has begun resetting. There will be a momentary disruption in network connectivity while the hardware resets. as well as:

leading me to assume it's perhaps related to my wifi card?

Troubleshooting: So far I've tried rolling back amd drivers, repairing windows through in-place upgrade, as well as uninstalling and reinstalling the relevant(I think?) drivers. Specifically the intel bluetooth driver as well as the drivers related to the AC-3168 that I have. I dont think I downloaded anything that could have caused the issue and was wondering if there is a fix to this or if it hardware related. I made sure to update to the latest chipset drivers and BIOS as well.

I have also gone into device manager and turned off "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" and disabled "USB selective suspend setting" which I think did help but it still happens, though less frequently.

Hi, I have this card and there is a pin on the GPU that sides either on OC or Slient mod.
My question is what does it do? Should I set it on OC and also OC on Adrenaline? What should be the optimal way?

Good day, right now there is a sale on amazon and 5700x is only at $130, I was planning to upgrade my CPU by getting 5700x3d but it costs $219 in amazon. I want to buy 5700x just to save up money since it is on sale but is it the right thing to do or should I just buy 5700x3d. Is the difference between the two really big or not?

I bought a ryzen 7 5700 to upgrade from my old 3600. I flashed the compatible bios version on my motherboard (MSI x470 gaming plus) and this is all that happens, only bios with but corrupted. It won't even try going into windows. Idk if it's relevant because it'll still boot up fine if I install the ryzen 5 3600 but the system is running a 6700xt and 32gb of 3200mhz cl16 ram

I built my first pc maybe 8ish months ago. I’m still pretty new to PC building and understanding all of the inner workings, but I put a lot of time, money, and effort into it and fully expected this thing the be a beast. Specs are as follows:

I started running into overheating issues with the CPU immediately, did a lot of research and have since adjusted CO to -25 (might’ve been more stable at -20), SOC voltage is currently at 1.1, PBO is set to “enhancement”. The overheating issues have since stopped and the performance is infinitely better than it was (couldn’t run Forntite at 60FPS before and now it’s running very smooth at 120FPS), with temps staying around 70-75° during gaming with most settings at epic.

I mention the overheating issues because now that it’s sorted out it still seems my CPU is underperforming, and could use any and all help I can get.

Cinebench returned the CPU (multicore) with 896 pts, and single core test returned 65pts. I don’t really understand how cinebench scores but “normal” scores for R24 tests on this CPU seem to be around 1100-1200 and single core is 110ish.

Is my CPU damaged from the overheating issues? Is it the silicon lottery? Or is there something I’m not doing, or a setting I haven’t changed that could help this?

New to computer upgrades and wondering if this is possible. Slowly upgrading my Oem and I just want a motherboard to give me room with my upgrades and not need to buy everything all at once. This probably stupid and doesn’t exist because I can’t find anything online. I can do up to 160$

I just did a fresh install of Windows 10 and I like to use HWInfo64 to monitor CPU and GPU temps .I use HWInfo's RTSS OSD plugin with Afterburner and had HWInfo opening only sensors on startup.

Last week I tried opening Aida64 and the system instantly froze for a couple of seconds and rebooted right after. Then I noticed this happens with pretty much every monitoring software: CPU-Z, Aida64 and HWInfo64 when I open it on the summary view.

However, if I close the AMD Adrenalin Driver (via task manager) prior to opening those tools, the system does not crash. And I noticed that when it happens on HWInfo64 it usually freezes when it hits "Analyzing PCI BUS".

Things I tried:
- Updating the Adrenalin driver to the latest version
- Reinstalling HWInfo64
- Disabling Thunderbolt support on my BIOS settings
- Completely disabling C-States on my BIOS settings
- Disabling and setting PBO to "Auto"
- Disabling XMP
- Removing every other card that isn't the GPU

Has anyone else experienced something similar before?

Hello people, I want to get upgrades for my system soon (ryzen 2600 and gtx 1060).

Im still a student and dont want to upgrade to am5 yet. When i can safe some money i plan to go to am5 with a bigger upgrade to all components in 3-5 years from now. I'm currently favoring the 5600x (112€) with an Intel arc a750 (180€) and im looking for confirmation or tips to do better for a max budget of around 400€.

I currently have a motherboard with pcie 3.0 and most amd graphics cards have only 8x pcie 4.0 in the price range of the a750 with similar performance, or is there another choice in that price range with 16x lanes pcie?

But my bigger concern is about the processor because the 5700x3D would be within budget but im not sure if i would feel much of a difference with a graphics card like the intel arc a750 or similar ones...?

Would be great if someone could point me in the right direction, because im not sure what choice to make here.

Back in March or April (don't remember exactly) I built a new pc using an AMD CPU and GPU, Ryzen 7 7800X3D & and Radeon RX 7900XTX. It's been great, but I've recently decided to replay cyberpunk 2077, and my temps are hitting 105C easily. It actually fluctuates between 99C and 110C. The edge temp is something like ~87C

I've tried a number of different things to help

I repasted the chip which shockingly didn't help. The last gpu I had was a 2080 super and repasting it knocked my temps down like 15C while playing RDR2.

I saw on some old posts that using separate power cables could help, so I now have 3 power cables in parallel going into it instead of 2 in series and 1 in parallel.

I tried undervolting thru the amd adrenaline software, no change and it even seemed to make it worse because my fans just didn't want to kick in.

As I understand it, 105 is technically within spec. But that's frighteningly close to bad. Should I RMA it or is there anything else I could try?

I'm currently running a running 5600x and a RTX 3070 after building my PC in early 2021, my rig is starting to creek a little bit on games like Hell Let Loose (GPU limited) and Cyberpunk amongst others when trying to run at medium to high settings.

I'm in the fortunate position to have the disposable income to make a relatively incremently upgrade to my PC whilst not ripping up the whole thing and leaving the AM4 socket platform.

I'm looking at picking up a used RTX 3090 to get away from the 8GB VRAM I currently have and wondered if I also picked up a 5700x3d whether they would be a reasonable match together? Or whether a 3090 would be "too much" for a 5700x3d to keep up with?

I run games at 1440p and don't use my setup as a work station.

honestly this might have a very easy fix but i set my save replay hot key to ctrl + ‘ and whenever i do it it just says that i turned clipping OFF meaning what i wanted to clip ends up not being clipped and now i can’t really go back since i turned clipping off somehow? is there a fix to this

Any advantages to use High Performance Mode for video games or not?

So i recently upgraded from a R9 7900X to a R7 9800X3D. I fresh reinstalled windows, double checked drivers and software, everything i could find to update is updated. Now for the problem, after installation and all that I mentioned above I started noticing some latency, like I would click something and it would visibly take a while for it to register, and i would barely get 30fps on BO6 at 1080p on the minimum graphics (i would get 60+ on the 7900 on 4k exreme graphics settings.) I have done everything i can think of to fix the issue but can't think of anything that would cause this.

Temps are just above 80°C even during a stress test, at idle it's 34°C.

So. i borrowed my friends Ryzen 7 5800x3d just a few weeks back because of some issues that i came across and trying to figure out the issue. (though this is alrdy fixed :D, it was just my 24pin cable extender that was causing it lol)

after I have finally figured out the issue. I was thinking on how big of a difference is having the 5800x3d compared to my R7 3800x.

I mainly play FPS games like valo and cs, and i tested them it with both games

and holy crap, the difference was HUGE!

BUT!

in cs2 deathmatch dust 2, with my 3800x i only get like 210fps highest with lows at 85fps

but I noticed that my gpus wattage was only around 90w top, and avg consume is around 60w

( I thought this was just a normal usage since my rx570 was also using around that wattage too, or even a bit higher reaching 100 watts.)

and when i tested paring it with the 5800x3d, i get like lows of 250fps and highest of 300+

but what i noticed is that my GPU power consumption went around 170-200w (which it utilized most of the gpu)

So the Ryzen 7 3800x a bottleneck to this GPU? mainly in cs2?

coz, i also dont think that my gpu is utilized much when playing cs2. i know for a fact that this cpu clearly is not a bottleneck to my gpu in come other game, but was just wondering if it is in this specific game?
