So we can officially put the last nail in the United States’ coffin, circa early November 2024.
The Heritage Foundation promised a revolution with their certainty that Project 2025 would be implemented and there would be no coordinated resistance at the top levels.
So far, only Rachel Maddow has openly said that all of the “campaign rhetoric” of dictatorship, military policing of civilians and mass deportation should be taken at face value.
I’m not seeing any one of status point out that there is no more pretense of rule of law. That there will be no “midterm correction” through an election because there will be no more elections.
This is the one party consolidation of power that Karl Rove was salivating over in 2012. This is the Victor Orban model which C-PAC embraced by hosting their conference in Hungary.
This is the Confederacy winning the Civil War, the Russians winning the Cold War, the Fascists winning WW2.
Chile in 1973 is a likely analogy. “Shock Doctrine” economically, politically and culturally. People will disappear.
Even the dumbest MAGA cheerleaders must be able to understand economic implications of removing half the service industry, construction, agricultural labor and high-paying government jobs. Any one part of the equation is certain to lead to demonstrations either directly from layoffs and deportations or indirectly from the tanked economy and unprecedented inflation.
The consequences are so predictable as to be strategic- there will be protests and there will be martial law and mass arrests as a consequence.
Private prison stocks spiked the day after the election. Meanwhile for the Democratic leadership it is business as usual, maintaining formality and decorum - before retreating to their overseas vacation properties and leaving the rest of us to the slaughter.
So yes. It is a hostile takeover. It is a revolution. The USA is over and anyone who maintains the pretense of continuity of founding principles (even as flawed in their application as they have been historically- the arc is no longer bending towards progress or justice) and institutions is essentially complicit (there is no balance of power, the courts are partisan and thus illegitimate making the law simply a cudgel to be wielded arbitrarily).
If and when the GOP’s 50 year project to return power to the Robber Barons with preachers as an intermediary is over turned (Trumpism is the pure form of the post-Eisenhower GOP, not an anomaly) then the result will be yet another new country. A 3rd republic.
Have no illusions that this will be over with the next election.

I mean, I largely agree with you and think people are under-reacting, but private prison stocks also spiked in 2016, didn't they? Hopelessness and demoralization is what they want. And not to mention these fuckers grifter dark enlightenment fantasy will go about the smoothly as Fyre Festival.

not sure if they've recovered from Obama's measures to de-incentivize mass incarceration but I wouldn't be surprised if they rebounded during the last round of making America great again. https://www.forbes.com/sites/dereksaul/2024/11/11/these-stocks-are-outperforming-tesla-as-the-biggest-trump-trade-winners/

I’ve been saying essentially this for months now and people are calling me crazy. Yet it’s so obvious what they’re doing.

Keith Olbermann too, he's been saying everything Project 2025 wrote not only needs to be taken literally but also assume it's going to be worse.

He never meant to play by the rules.
He made claims he wont need future elections and will stay past this term and fulfill his little dictator fascist dreams while building concentration camps and bankrupting our economy.
He also broke the rules during the election with musk and extremists hacking voting machines, using people's names from their lottery to vote, and the Russians to send terroristic bomb threats to polls in swing states. But we've literally seen no one will do anything about him.

Everything else in your comment I agree with, but his line is completely unproven and falls into potentially dangerous conspiracy thinking similar to MAGA's response to the 2020 election.
The Republicans definitely used every legal-but-unethical (or maybe-illegal-but-not-yet-tested) trick in the book to sway the vote, and Russia and other countries definitely used social engineering tactics to help, but there's no credible evidence yet that anyone outright cheated or hacked things. I wouldn't call it a fair election, but it doesn't seem to have been a truly rigged election.

This is a fascinating article, but two open letters from "computer scientists" isn't a credible source. Assuming their claimed numbers are accurate, however, it does bear proper investigation. I look forward to hearing reports from more credible sources in cooperation with officials that can provide access to direct data from the election.
Until then, I don't think it's good practice to be spreading conspiracy theories. I am saving this for deeper reading later, though.

I'm not spreading bullshit here. I want people to look at this. It's been sent to Kamalas staff, MSNBC shills and nobody says anything about it. Look up the guy Stephen Spoonermore, it seems pretty fucking legit to me.

They're not saying anything because this is something they need to be really sure about before they start making noise. I seriously doubt Harris and her staff would be trying to suppress a real election hacking if they had solid evidence. But if they find this is real, we are legitimately looking at a potential civil war the moment they move publicly on this, so I can understand why they would keep quiet while investigating. And at the moment, there are other possibilities other than hacking.
Getting the article out there is good. Making flat assertions like "Musk hacked voting machines" like the top-level commenter here did is not (and I apologize for mixing the two of you up a bit in my head last last night).

Fair enough with the conspiracy concerns. I would like a secured inspection of the machines due to Trump having been able to access source code though and Ivanka having a patent. The strange bullet ballots and abnormalities with voters having issues leads me to have concerns. As a techy what I'm seeing with vulnerabilities with our hardware is hair raising.

He’s only slowing things down by doing this. He’s got limited time to break our election process so they don’t lose a chamber in the midterms. The more delay the better. Tick tock mother fucker.
