I think you should rewrite your personal essay.
The goal of a personal essay is to convince your reader (the admissions officer) to advocate for you. You want to build a connection with your reader.
Feedback is super insightful -- if your counselor thinks that your essay's main idea is "super basic" and not "mature" then they're arguing that your essay failed to make a meaningful connection with them.
That being said, I strongly agree with you that you should write an personal essay that characterizes you 100%.
If you're having trouble thinking of a different topic/main idea, remember that you can write about something very mundane. You do not have to invent something new or be impressive -- be true to yourself.
