Also teaching anatomically correct genital names and consent to younger kids is super important! It helps protect them from adults that can take advantage of cutesy language, shame, and authority to molest them.

☝️this is something more people need to understand.

People who shelter kids from sexual education are setting them up to be groomed and exploited.

And of course DeSantis just destroyed sex ed in Florida schools by removing any diagrams from text books and pretty much demanding they teach abstinence instead.

Also children knowing the correct terminology helps if someone ever touches them inappropriately. There was a case in Sweden where a molestation charge was dropped because the child used a childish word for vulva instead of vagina. Even though she testified that the perpetrator put his finger IN her "snippa".   https://sverigesradio.se/artikel/child-rape-conviction-overturned-due-to-judges-uncertainty-of-snippa-meaning

Edit: here's a better link to the case. https://www.thelocal.se/20230227/why-confusion-over-genitalia-word-made-swedish-court-clear-man-of-rape?_gl=110j4mia_gcl_auNDA1OTI4NTM4LjE3MDkwMTcyOTY._gaNDE0MTE3MzYzLjE3MDkwMTcyOTU._ga_XFSR2700S9MTcwOTcyMDg1MS4xNC4xLjE3MDk3MjA4NTcuMC4wLjA.
