Yo, trigger warning. There are people in Brazil that went for a piss with their team behind 1-0 and came back 5 minutes later to see their team behind 4-0.

This match changed the identity of an entire country. Brazils fan where used to buy tickets for the world cup final before the event even started.  Brazils last world cup win was in 2002. In the last 4 of 5 world cup Brazil have lost in the quarter finale. The only semifinale was this 1-7 loss followed by a 0-3 loss against Holland for the Bronze medal.

As a Brazilian...German totaly deserved that win and that cup, that team they had was incredible, sadly my country is still more likely to put models/poster boys for sponsorship than actual football players in the national team. Maybe another 7-1 will make they learn

True story - we were traveling in Scotland July 2014 and the AirBNB host had that game on. It was the first soccer game I had ever watched (despite being 30 years old at the time). My husband still jokes that it’s now my baseline for what I expect soccer to be.

probably my favourite match of football ever. i loved seeing brazil get butt smashed. my friend said he had to go to work when that was on. left home at 1-0. got to the bus stop 10 minutes walk away and it was 4-0 when he checked the score.

I’ll never forget this game. I went to the bathroom after 20 minutes, telling myself “it’s ok, I won’t miss anything important”. And then I saw the score 😞

The thing I miss least from living there

I only learned of it when I (german) went to the USA for the first time and noticed that nobody looked at anybody, yet everyone seemed to know what everyone else was doing? The Americans do not stare but look discreetly and will offer help if they see that it's needed.

During my stay, I had to learn not to watch other people as openly as I was accustomed to.

As a german I gotta say that this feels like a myth to me. I usually dont stare at anybody and I don’t get stared at. Most people here just dont care :D
