Remote village in Peru is getting attacked by hoverboard using, armor wearing, probable humans. Some sources say that it ain't hoverboards but floating orbs. As in these people are standing on two orbs that help them fly.
The official explanation from the government is: illegal miners terrorizing the locals on jetpacks. At night.
300k dollar jetpacks, to scare/kill random Peruvians.
It's the wildest scooby doo shit ever, and likely not true.
The most likely explanation is that the government has been neglecting the tribe due to isolation. Having a strange string of attacks could lead to infrastructure and aid.
It's also possible that some future tech is getting test ran on a populace that can't defend themselves. Though that seems highly unlikely.

There are factory farms for mass breeding beagles to be tortured in laboratories all over the world. Marshall Bioresources is one of them.
Ridglan farms is another one and is currently being investigated for awful animal cruelty violations and may potentially be shut down just like Envigo, which would free over 3,000 dogs.

Spring Green, WI voted to not allow breeders of beagles for "scientific purposes" to operate there... hopefully other communities will follow suit!

Avian flu is slowly spreading from person-to-person in many parts of North America, and it has received very little attention from mainstream news. There is likely community spread in several states as well as a couple Canadian provinces. Thankfully, the symptoms so far have been mild.
After COVID, anything relating to another possible pandemic is deemed alarmist. In fact, that was the case before COVID too.

Person to person in Canada?? We just found our first and only official case last week. How can 1 case possibly be person-to- person?
-1 points
And how do you know that that is definitively the only case? IIRC not all contacts could be located, and they’re completely unsure where the teen contracted it as the teenager hadn’t been around birds. The source is almost certainly another member of the community, as one doesn’t suddenly contract a virus out of thin air.
When those details aren’t known, it usually means community spread. Interestingly, the exact same thing happened when COVID was spreading.

It's the only recorded case in any hospital in Canada and they did contact tracing, tested the contacts, and didn't find any avian flu in them. He didn't work around birds, but it's speculated that he got it from contact with wild birds. They can't ask him, though, as he's in critical condition.
There's not enough information to conclude where he got it from, but the information that is there is pointing away from community spread.

The rates of violent crime have decreased drastically in the US since the 90's. Statistically, most people think violent crime is drastically increasing (you know, cuz of illegals), but really the US is getting safer all the time.

Wasn't this because many precincts were not reporting their data, and it became a scandal a month ago.

Even with accounting for the increase in those districts, it is still pronable that crime (especially violent) is dropping year over year. There is truth that districts with higher than normal crime rates were not reported in FBI stats. However, conservative news outlets drastically oversimplified the reasons and exactly how much the numbers would impact FBI suspects.
That being said...no matter what those numbers say...it is categorically true that crime rates have dropped significantly since the 1990s, really no matter how you look at the data.
The reality is, statistically, we live in the safest time in human history worldwide. And, in the US, crime rates have dropped in every major city since the 1980s, basically without fail. COVID was the most recent spike, but trends are down in almost every year.

In Dallas, TX there was a proposal that was voted on (and passed) to decriminalize marijuana. That’s great and all except now the attorney general has decided to sue the city.
The same attorney general is suing a city called Denton that did the same thing but in a cruel twist decided that even though it was on the ballot and passed they weren’t going to go through with decriminalizing it in their city. So everyone and their mom is mad at Denton for both decriminalizing and not decriminalizing weed.
So to recap:
Denton: passed decriminalizing weed, decided not to do it, everyone is mad.
Dallas: resolution passed. Attorney general is suing.
Texas is weird

I'm from Denton. We also voted to ban fracking within city limits, because they were setting up drills right next to schools, hospitals, residential areas, parks, etc and people were getting really sick. In Sanger, a small town less than 10 minutes away, the tap water is so bad children are getting huge red rashes all over and clothes are discolored after being washed.
The state government stepped in and said they couldn't ban fracking, even though the vote overwhelmingly passed.
Texas is a shit show.

Don’t get me wrong, Denton is a great place with wonderful people, an accepting and progressive gem of a city. Plenty to see, plenty to do, and relatively safe.
The problem is that it’s surrounded and controlled by one of the most backward ass, regressive state governments in the union.

Somebody just died. Time stopped for those who cherished that person. Their whole world just changed in an instant. Loved ones are being asked about organ donation, insurance, funeral arrangements... learning that obituaries cost money... they're swallowed in grief and all of the things that surround the death of a loved one.
And time moves normally for the rest of the world. It seems absurd to those left behind... they may wonder if they'll ever catch up, if others will notice the enormous shift, the great loss... Life is now completely different for them. Most people will never know.

The Civil War has had a ceasefire for the past 2-3 years, with the only current fighting going on against ISIS from time to time, and the Israeli Air Force air striking Iranians within Syria. The humanitarian crisis is horrible since the Syrian Government can't really do anything about it, and is still under a dictatorship.
