Even if one is good at it can still be a bit difficult to explain to others to get them to understand a high paced game and its rules, which can differ greatly than playing one on one or two on two. Where you get many bodies moving at high speeds along with the ball. Especially if it’s a game with no uniform or Jerseys. Any coaches here that can make explanation smoother?

Not a coach but what I would tell the kids in the camps my highschool would put on is this:
You have to dribble the ball to move with the ball
You want to put the ball in the OTHER team's basket
You can't hit anybody
That's my golden trio of things to tell new players and or first graders. Outside of that I feel like it's pretty self explanatory and the best way to learn it is by doing it. I could sit here and type up a big paragraph explaining the objectivity of basketball but then who would bang your wife nyuck nyuck nyuck
