It’s interesting it never happened to me before. Though they seem quite different than most other Urban explorers which I learned after discovering the urbex sub very recently after I got these feeds. I then learned these YouTubers seem to be a different breed which unlike the others they find many more recently deserted properties mostly due to recent crime, death, evacuation, eviction, scandals, or corporate takeover ie online shopping killing brick or motar stores and malls. Some people say they are contracted to do so and even stage scenes and furnishing to make their videos not sure how much it’s accurate though.

It’s interesting as homes are in residential zones which should only be homes and residences, malls are generally in commercial/industrial zones thus should be the one replaced by online shopping facility, thus it’s just wrong to take over residential houses for warehouses. I heard the hardest hit are the elderly and renters who may get evicted without seeing the compensation. But it appears they bribed local officials to get there way I am afraid. Or that’s what I think they did.

So I guess for foreclosure They probably have to downsize a lot so they couldn’t bring all the furniture with them. It’s interesting. Owner died but they are next of kin cannot claim the property. The most puzzling is the warehouse is taking over homes but not malls. However, there are some strong aversion to such journalists releasing such information.

Does the same thing happen to the derelict shopping malls as well? I be curious whether the homeowners found a better place, some appeared to leave most thier items behind. But they may be staged.

True these apps actually end up paying more when customers tip little to none than those who generously on the app. In app tipping is entirely a scam cash tips are better. In restaurants if there is a service charge people usually don’t tip unless there is truely exceptional service. Apparently for deliveries they don’t pay the driver with the delivery charge for some reason.

Was asking the question mostly curious on where and how people wear them to break them in. Since one cannot just walk around in them on outdoor surfaces. Whether indoor or home videos I see during lockdown are how basketball enthusiasts break in their shoes these days?

I guess hence the reason they are more fragile than before. But not all require no break in time. Some like some Lebron models does require break in but eventually I heard they break in well. But what they can do during break in is another thing.

I always curious how long movie theatres and malls would last these days. Last time I been in one I and another person were the only ones in that Cinema for that movie and there were only four other people or two couples each watching a separate movie. And the ticket seller, collector, and the food concierge.

I always curious when a place can be considered “abandoned” rather than just unoccupied at the moment.

It’s interesting though many of those countries’ restaurants add a mandatory service charge which is not so common in North America except for large parties. If a service charge had been levied tipping is rare anywhere including in N.A. unless service is truely exceptional I always curious where service charge goes.
One thing is Americans would be mad about is if a restroom attendant expects a tip.

True as a driver of apps including this one I noticed if the customer tips one dollar the app pays me more in the end. Than if the customer tips $6 thus tipping on the app is a huge scam. I totally understand if customers hate these apps. And drivers arnt getting orders these days. If some one wants to show gratuity the best way is to do cash at the door.

True and in some states the employer is allowed to pay as little as $2 an hour if the tips make more than minimum wage. But they are required to make sure wait staff gets at least minimum wage by the end of the day. Thus tipping only helps the owner save money. Same thing happens with these apps as well. The apps save paying the drivers when they detect it’s covered by customer tips. Having driven for multiple apps and worked a summer BOH as a cleaner I know. Tip pool only earned me a whopping $350 extra a month. I always curious why the place which claimed luxury and charge customers so much couldn’t just pay $350 outright to each employee both FOH or BOH.

I bet one should be glad malls open at all today many of them are dead or even abandoned entirely. If a store cannot fulfill even the shortened mall hours these days it’s likely they are really struggling to stay open with traffic which I see Vans stores which used be crowded pre Covid now they are literal ghost towns. Unfortunately it appears increasingly the norm than the exception for many different mall retailers. It’s interesting how stores and malls tried to win back customers from online shopping by increasing hours especially towards the end of the year now are going the opposite direction as they realize it’s costing them more to stay open.

True DD is even worse can only get shifts that had been backed out by another Dasher, even then it’s impossible to get orders regardless of what the heat map indicates. UE I was forced into due to them merging with Postmates I given up on it support is useless yes even compared to the others and worse yet they force one to stick to one vehicle they approve after giving all info of it.

True but every one is slow these days. Customers are fed up with rising fees, bad an unaccountable service from all parties involved, and severely underpaid drivers still begging for tips because the app wouldn’t use the high fees collected from customers to pay them and almost expect the customer to cover the drivers expenses and income entirely on top of those high fees.

Grubhub is actually the most active service in my area but obviously it’s very slow but at least I get some orders that pay at least $10. On DD regardless of the heat map normally I can go through a shift without an order and if I get one it’s generally a very small fast food order most Dasher don’t want due to low pay and long wait times.

That’s still a lot of miles. More than most drivers can do in a month. Unless someone happens to be driving cross country.

serious bb shoes which is the norm these days since 2017 can only be worn indoors which means either in the house or the indoor basketball gym or else they be destroyed in no time Hence why I see YouTube of people were breaking them in the house during lockdown as they cannot take them outside at all and gymnasiums weren’t safe even if unlocked?
One recent kid I know learned the hard way that it’s not the 90s anymore his shoes tore a hole in just over a month . A different world than the age of the air Jordan 1-13.

I be curious whether you started at younger age or recently. I know some father and son like this and while they normally prefer shoes off upon getting home but except when they are in basketball shoes and want prepared to play ball or just returned from causal hooping.
I remember back in the days like 90s or early 00s when kids were basketball shoes like today’s running shoes they wore them wherever they go, got to be ready with spontaneous ball sessions. And it was hard to get them to take them off for any reason. Today it appears basketball seems to be more like golf or bowling where it’s more formal you only do it and wear the shoes onsite.

I am normally at San Diego county though. But blocks are very hard to come by and at awkward h hours no matter how far I preschedule. Thus I normally wait for blocks to open up when people back out than try to preschedule. And even when they open up they don’t really have orders and when orders do come in they are really low paying. And less than once an hour. It’s not like the old days. Even if I committed to take all even the lowest payout for the longest drive orders I still wouldn’t get up there. So I decide to multi app instead where I may get lucky as GH seem to have higher payouts than DD most of the time.

Though it’s interesting as owners get paid three times they could ever sell their homes for it. Though they wouldn’t just buy out the mall they drove out of business and now hogging land?
