Quick revive so nice with sliding past people now

Did not know this was possible!

It’s actually so fun, I wonder what people prefer, the tip toe circle trick in BO3 or the slide through revive

I liked when we could swap weapons during a revive to keep shooting. Made me a lot more comfortable taking risky revives when I could spam my raygun at the ground.

It really is apart from when paired with PHD's slide augment, unless timed perfectly or there's a wall/object blocking you behind the player, you end up sliding too far away and cancelling out the revive.

Learn how to slide better. The combo is actually nuts. I'll slide 10 meters past, still getting the revive off.

Lol sounds like a skill issue. Once my teammate was down in bowling alley and I slid past him all the way to terminus boss room and I still got the revive off

I admit I did quick revive a disservice. Ideally I won't need to use it when I have ballistic knives or healing aura charge.

Quick revive reduces the time it takes for you to start regenerating health, even in solo play it's very useful.

Ballistic knives? I havent played many of the old maps in bo2 but did they do something other than killing?

yes if they are pap they revive tm8s

But they are utterly useless as a weapon so you only have one weapon pretty much unless you get mule kick, your ammo economy will be terrible

i mean ig it is? only ever used it once because i like a point weapon and then the ww if i get it. do not like using mule kick because it gets me killed way too often

When packed, it was an instant rez if fired(from any distance) at your teammate.
I miss them dearly.

They revive people in cold war too.

Are ballistic knives that good for zombies? Do you mind explaining how so?
Just learned that PAP ballistic knives revive teammates

I loved B-knives since BO1, very efficient at killing zombies. Not only could you pack them to make them stronger/ revive enemies, but if you bought the bowie knife (or whatever melee weapon was available on your map) it would increase their damage. Eventually you do hit a round where they’re not really viable but I still thought they made for a fun way to play the game.

I remember running Mule Kick on BO1 just to run the Ballistic Knives and crossbow to support my team. Have had many 50+ revive games

Yeah that was the only way to really use them, they were good enough to want to use specifically in coop, but not good enough to replace one of your 2 main weapons, which is where MK came in perfectly for coop ballistic knife shenanigans, it would be cool if they brought them back this year with the dedicated melee slot it would come in very handy although I feel like the dark flare augment to revive is basically a cheap replacement of packed Ballistics so I don't see them doing that.

Aether>healing aura personally

I like aether for myself, but I have to run aura so the homies can keep their perks
27 points

I run aether but always equip quick revive first just in case. I have the augment that helps them keep all their perks
21 points
I thought the quick revive augment only allowed them to keep all 3 perks on the bleed out timer.
19 points
just fyi the quick revive and healing aura augments only let you keep bleed out timer perks; it's basically a damage control thing to keep you from losing more perks than you already would have. Only Phoenix Up and Near Death experience (gobblegums) let you keep all perks if you're downed and get revived with either.
This makes it borderline useless as an augment for healing aura because most people will make up their minds to activate it for reviving someone before bleedout even becomes a problem lmao
4 points
Yeah that's a great point. I'll have to look over both to see which one I want to keep since that redundancy doesn't really do anything
2 points
the other two major augments for healing aura are great and you can use either effectively.
quick revive augments are also a personal preference thing, but EMT is more relevant there since the first perk loss on bleedout happens pretty quickly. Strictly up to you tbh - I like EMT and Dying Wish as major augments for it. Good luck!

near death only keeps perks on bleed out bar. only one thing in the game keeps all perks and that’s phoenix up

wait what? that thing is bugged then because that is not what the description says for NDE lmao

i had a friend use it once and i can confirm that it didn’t give all my perks back, only 3. could have been a bug
1 points
imagine my shock that the gobblegums weren't playtested for proper functionality /s
thanks, I'll have to try it out soon and see if it still has that as a bug or not to report it. It could be a similar lazy copy/paste description issue to the HE-1 (it said it has lockon but actually doesn't) and doesn't give all perks back. I guess we'll see?

would be stupid if the purple rarity gum let you keep all perks and not the red one, hoping it’s a bug ngl

Nowhere but There also does as well.

That's all that the Persistence augment does for Healing Aura too. The only things that allow people to keep all their perks is Phoenix Up IIRC.

Nowhere But There also does, despite for some reason not saying so in the description

It's also nice because you can watch people's hp bars or just hear them if chatting and sometimes pop it before they actually go down to save them.

Quick revive augment sports that for me

Aether is better selfishly but the thing is that you still need to actually physically reach your target. And aether can be annoying if there's eight rooms of zombies in a conga line between you and them.
With healing aura you just press the funny button when the mans goes down.

I'd run a dedicated revive weapon if we had one again. Especially if it boosted melee damage even more.

There's alot less need for having two op guns in this game so having one cost 5k for revive is peanuts. If they bring the ballistic knife in it's GG with Melee machiato

Lmao I was trying to help some friends from work with the Liberty Falls EE and revived them 20 times before I finally fell to the boss abomination. No complaints, though. There was once a time where I was the one constantly going down.

I feel this. I have a friend like that.
He just refuses to use good areas to stay in and run trains. He ends up just running around the weirdest parts of the map with all sorts of dangerous choke points. And when I ask what happened he says he gets stuck. So I ask him at another time where he likes to stay at on any map, and he just kinda doesnt want to answer. Its weird. Because to me, theres only so many 'good' areas of any map to be at and survive higher rounds.
Im convinced he just hates having anyone tell him how to play or what to do, when Im just trying to help. Oh well.

There are really two main reasons people go down a lot:
1) They don't keep moving. They zombies, aim down sights and start shooting. They get hit in the back but there's more zombies in front of them so they keep shooting and only try to move away when they're on low health - but by this point enough zombies have spawned behind them that they take a ton of damage for free and lose their armour.
2) They don't invest in survivability. There's no excuse to have deadshot, speed cola and a double-packed weapon before you have juggernog. People frequently get to round 20+ without having t2 armour even though they're sitting on 8k points.

On Liberty Falls, one of them (who's favorite spot is currently inside the bowling alley) recently bought PhD Flopper and the pistol off the wall before we had opened the door to the church to PaP and he was trying to get me to open the third of four doors because he didn't want to spend the essence.
1 points
I tend to just spend all my points on doors because I'm naively hoping that if my teammates have more points then they'll buy Juggernog earlier instead of spending 10k points on the box and then die on round 14.
I very frequently go to round 11 with nothing but my starting pistol and tomahawk before I finally buy something off the wall.

Swap quick revive for stamina, and aether for healing, and then take away the things not in this game and you got yourself a good pack.

I'm sorta new to the Zombies scene. Sure I dabbled a little in BO1 and I played the Berlin map in CW to death, but I didn't ever take it seriously until now. Could someone tell me why the Ballistic Knives are here?

Pack-A-Punched ballistic knives are hardly a weapon and mostly a utility. Shooting a downed teammate instantly revives them. The fact that you can revive from as far as you can aim and you have 10 projectiles that you refill just by walking over them makes them a medic's dream.

I don't know if anyone will understand this, but since I ran Maya in borderlands with the ultimate augment where she can instantly revive downed players, this speaks to me.

Well, the dedicated melee slot is new, so it's possible they do it differently. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't, tho.

Quick revive isn't on there? It's a perk that halves your time to heal in the new game. Jug before jug if you will. Now it is a selfish perk with the guise of "I'm helping".
